In the hurricane's path? Read, please.
Now before anyone gets all gung-ho about "GET OUT!", this is for folks who for some reason or other CAN'T get out.
If anyone needs a "safe-call" contact outside the danger zone, you're welcome to cal me. Here's how this works: If you're in the strike area, you and your family have a contact outside of the area. Before the strike, call your contact and make sure he or she has the names of your family members and their ages, as well as your location. Give your family members the contact's phone number in case you get separated, then instruct them to call the contact as soon as possible after the storm. The contact's job is to collect info for you, so that should you get separated, when you call the contact can tell you who is accounted for, their location, and their status, (fine, injured, in hospital, etc.) They can also keep up with your pets' info. Even if you and your family come out of this okay, please remember to call your contact and let him or her know. Believe me, there's no better sound to our ears. If you'd like to use me as a contact, or if you know someone who might be interested, please contact me via email - mindcrime AT gmail.com and I'll get you all set up. Be safe, everyone. |
That's an awesome gesture, Tala... as always a class act.
