they have the most horrible policies and customer service.

i went to t-mobile and haven't been happier. My coverage and reception were better with Verizon but the t-mobile customer service is top notch.

not every company has a cell phone program that fits your needs. t-mobile fits mine in AZ however in boston it sucked for me.

cingular has more customers, but verizon has the larger network.

verizon predicts by the end of q2 2006 it will once again have the most customers.

verizon is much more advanced. Europe is changing their technology over to the CDMA technology that Verizon has from the age old TDMA technology.

TDMA served it's purpose but the CDMA is much better. each TDMA node can handle 8 calls...all sharing that one node. CDMA can handle dozens of calls per node without colliding packets. This makes it a faster data network and a better reception because it doesn't drop calls like TDMA in low signals.

I have been looking into a new provider. After close to 6 years with Sprint, their merge with NexTel has left my home in an area with crappy coverage now so, they are allowing me out of my contract. I have been looking at Cingular just because they offer laptop access. I will have to take a peek at Verizon as well.

that's a false statement. Cingular hasn't rolled out their 3G UMTS network yet while Verizon rolled out their 3G EV-DO over a year ago. Verizon will be rolling out their EV-DV network in 6 months. hmmm EV-DO lets you get 700kbps to 2Mbps while UMTS gets 250-400kpbs.

cingular is my guess. like someone mentioned, after their merge w/ AT&T, they increased a lot.

i think it's cingular. i see more exposure from them than verizon

yes cingular spends more to gain new customers because their turnover is higher because their disgruntled customers switch to verizon

i am pretty happy with my verizon. good coverage, and the in calling is great because most of my family and friends have verizon too.

plus they had the best blackberry plan. unlimited data/text/email and high speed access for about 120 a month.

I think verizon. I have em... but the service here sucks, I cant use it in my house.
