$93.4M Winner Comes Forward!
A master sergeant assigned to the 58th Training Squadron at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico has claimed a $93.4 million Powerball jackpot. John San Cartier correctly matched all six numbers drawn on August 10. San chose the $52.2 million lump-sum option. After federal withholding taxes of 25 percent and state withholding taxes of six percent, he will receive a one-time wire transfer of approximately $36 million. The winning numbers were 13 Damn from 93 Million to only getting 36 million :-x |
KMR,
Lots of taxes, but I think I could possibly handle 36 mill. Boy I could expand in realestate, investments, etc :) |

so that way I don't blow it all ;-) |

Besides, if you put 36million in an IRA and invest it right, you can have 90 million well within 5 years. Better deal if you ask me. |
Man... I drove 30 minutes south today into Oregon to buy powerball tickets too! I only matched a total of 3 numbers and they were all on different lines. :(
|
Haha, I am on my way to Idaho from CA and was going to stop in Oregon and buy a ticket but was tired and stopped in Nevada instead. Haven't made it to Oregon yet let alone Idaho. Darn it. Well, at least I won $50 in slots. Probably more than my ticket would have won.

Damn.. that dude is set for life, he can count his lucky stars

The person from Oregon is getting around $164 million if they take the lump sum, from what I understand. Lucky bastard, either way. |

Exactly, with proper management and investing, the lump sum is always best in the long term. And here in Canada a lump sum is tax free! :thumbsup Unfortunately, our jackpots are nowhere near the size the US gets :( |
What a lucky son of a bitch!
|
must be nice, WOW that's a lot of $$$
|
thats a lot of money
|
damn man thats rough, i think i might have to go with the payout over time, and invest what i could out of each payment for the first year or so and let that draw interest
|
Did you guys hear about the 90-year old woman who won the lottery a couple of years ago? The state she's in won't LET HER receive a lump sum! She's like, I REALLY NEED THAT MONEY TO GIVE TO MY FAMILY AND TO BUY THINGS I WANT BEFORE I DIE! they were like, well we'll give it to whoever you leave it to in a will. She's like, fuck that, I want my money now! LOL! Apparently she wanted to take some really expensive trips and buy a lot of sh*t before she dies.
I say give the woman the money. As for the 340 million, lucky bastards! |
