yahoo 2.99 domains - question
 

Is this only good if you HOST with them or is that for any normal domain purchase?

i picked one up yesterday and i think there was small print about only one domain being allowed unless you buy hosting and offer only good till 31st, but I didn't read to closely.

i bought a $2.99 domain & they charged my credit car $4.99

I just went to check, and my charge hasn't appeared yet but this charge from yesterday was neat - never been billed in Rubles before:

ya too bad you cant transfer out of yahoo, or lock them. why bother.

I have 12 domains at Yahoo.com and they are all locked.

you missed my post the other day , they seem to have changed and they have domain locking now.. not sure about transfering though , but the service is ultra shitty.. i wouldn't suggest it to anybody

its not hearsay , i bought some domains when they first had this deal months ago and they didnt have domain locking , see my post under lensman's thread ( same topic )

They do now and thats great but the service still sucks

I bought about 10 domains at 2.99 within 2 days, no trouble at all even though I did notice in the fine print it said only 1 domain per account.

I bought 4 the last time they had the deal. All were cancelled and refunded within a week. I tried contacting them but they just don't answer.

Probably best to wait a few months to see how it pans out for others. You really don't want domains getting tied up at a place if there's going to be a whole bunch of trouble. But once they get their act together, $2.99 per domain would be awesome.

And the dns system was another shit
