Is this rude of me?
 

My parents are coming to visit me for a week in December and when they told me they were planning on staying at my place I suggested they stay at a hotel instead. I have extra room but the last time they stayed I had no privacy, my Mom cleaned every fucking inch of my already clean place and found some things I didn't want her to find. Plus they argue quite a bit and its annoying. Am I being a dick by suggesting they stay in a hotel instead?

In this case, what I would do, is book a hotel for myself.

Perhaps it's just a personal or cultural thing but if any of my relatives asked me to stay at a hotel while I was in town, I would be deeply offended.

I think it depends on the kind of parents you have whether it's rude or not. My parents would probably freak out but my boyfriend's parents would like the idea. Think about how they react to other situations and you'll have your answer.

I have to agree, as long as its close to your place, has everything that you would want in a hotel you'd stay at, nothing is wrong with that. :thumbsup

Your mom does not want to stay in a hotel cause your dad probably tries to get all freaky. Hotels do that to men sometimes, I think it has something to do with the whole prositute fantasy. Anyways, Yes that was a little rude of you but hey you got to do what you got to do. I think everyone wants to say that to their family but no one has the balls ever. :thumbsup
