Street Food Vendors.. Do you eat there?
Who eats from street food vendors?
This Pakistani dude on 45th and 5th in NYC makes a killer "Chicken" over jasmine rice & salad, comes with a "secret" marinade. Fucking awesome combo here. Another Asian dude makes a nice "Gyro" meat over choice rice on 54th and Park. Gotta hit these two at least once a week.... good eats regardless what it is. So do you people eat from street vendors? |
the meat is from rats, be careful
|
Yes I do. Though we really do not have any here.
|
Not unless I personally know the person cooking my food...
Other than that I steer clear.... |
dude im near there all week.. madison and 47th

Lenina Huxley: [Spartan encounters a burger grill in the underground world] Just don't ask them where the meat comes from.
John Spartan: Huxley, what's that supposed to mean? Lenina Huxley: Do you see any cows here? John Spartan: Que es este carne? [What is this meat?] Underground Vendor: Este carne es de rata. [This meat is from rats.] John Spartan: Rat? This is a rat burger? [vendor nods] John Spartan: Not bad! Matter of fact this is the best burger I've had in years! Prego. See ya later. |
heh i live in a city that doesnt have those and yes that means i live in a small city heh so i have never tried it, the only thing i have tried is a hotdog in NYC when i was there right after 9/11
|
Unfortunately, yes.

Everyone says the Cream Cheese Dogs are the shit out here in Seattle from the Street Vendors, especially after a night of drinking on the town, I know they do smell damn good... But honestly, I think I can either hold off till morning, or get something from a Diner or a 24 hour fast food joint easier and better.

The food displayed there suit my appetite; yes, I do eat street foods.
|
If you work or live in a city, yes.
They are just small bussiness owners making some good money, if their food is good...good meaning you do not have to use bathroom right after eating. :Oh crap |
Nothing better then a "Lucky Dog" vendor in New Orleans or the taco stands in Tiajuana. :thumbsup
|
Hell yes. I buy burritos in mexico from the ones who carry them around in buckets. Good shit there :)
|
Occasionally ... I usually have to be drunk. But it tastes so yummy ... the gyro buggy is my favorite!
|
Nashville doesn'tHAVE street vendors. But there's a kick ass bbq places over on 8th, and the there's the Farmer's Market where you can get some killer thai food.
|
Street food is good but be careful to some who doesn't practice proper handling of food.

as long as you dont eat streetfood in London youre cool.
Ask anyone living there and youll know, they make these iron boxes in 2 secs put sauceges on top union too and go to places where a lotta tourists come. 5 pounds or so (>$8) and a garantuee youll get food poison. The backed unions attracts ppl, it makes me sick, seen it on tv seen it irl, theyre forbidden when the cops come they just ran away, leave the box n all, thats how much they make. "The main targets of the operation were the illegal hot-dog sellers, due to their unhygienic cooking equipment, non-existent washing facilities and cheap products which are not kept in refrigerated conditions. Many tourists believe these traders are licensed and buy the hot dogs in good faith. "Unfortunately, many of these very customers will become ill as a result and certainly will not get value for money," Councillor Whelan said. "Lambeth is preparing for more enforcement operations and this exercise adds to earlier operations where seven illegal food stalls were removed." |
the tacos in mexico are off the hook
dunno about those bacon wrapped hot dogs though |
Ofcourse, I have no problems eating from them..
|
We don't have street vendors here, except for one hot dog cart thingy downtown. But just so no one doubts how hardcore I am- I have eaten food from a vendor off the street in Tijuana Fucken Mexico. And lived to tell it.
|
sometimes. not very often.

oh yeah, you have to have a license here to do it. the hotdogs are good after the bar. if you're really all that worried you can check to see if they have their license. im sure they have to put it on their cart or whatever.
|
Definitely miss that food in NYC. There is never a shortage of good things in that city.
|
what about buying food from people on the side of the road, anyone buy from them?
|
Hey,
A dude in front of the NY Public Library on 53st off 5th has awesome Empenadas, though I gotta admit, I've had heartburn since I've eaten them, I think it was the chicken, burp, pigeon empenada, burp......... Isn't it funny though how like these guys that have "chicken" on their menu serve you pieces of "chicken" that look like no chicken you have ever seen? Just a thought....... |
