If you own a forum can you be held responsible for....
 

If you have a forum and someone hotlinks some porn or hosts it themselves is the forum owner responsible for that? I'm thinking about this for 2257 reasons and because they probably trade porn that isnt supposed to be free.

well i dont think your going to be immune in any case but if there is a reasonable expectation you can verify/monitor the content on the forum, i think you must do so..

If you simply were always at fault , forums would be legal nightmares as someone could upload and post almost anything before you could have a chance to edit it, that wouldn't be fair at all ( not that the law is but ), but if its well within your power to edit it , i think you must do so.. i.e. if someone informs you of it, its reasonable to assume you fix it.

Nobody is responsible for the USE of the forum except the person USING it.

No the owners cant be held responsible for this.

The guy in lakeland that was just busted for the Obsenity stated that the photos were uploaded by others.

So I can let them upload on the forum (using my host) and I still can't be held responsible?
