Canadian Halloween?
What day is this celebrated on?
Since they have their own Thanksgiving I think they should be allowed to have their own Halloween too. Have it about a month earlier and for different reasons. You know, just to keep things consistent. That said, Canada is a very nice country. |
LMAO
I hate sharing holidays with people in the States. But, some things like Christmas, Halloween, etc just can't be changed. |
December 25th
|
I'd support Canada not acknowledging any more US holidays with their similar yet different Holidays.
Doesn't Canada have a "Canada Day" around the US 4th of July "Independence Day"? |
Canada saves time by celebrating all holidays (Xmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, etc etc..) on November 31st each year.
|
We don't celebrate Halloween..It gets too cold and the kids have to walk over 20 miles on the tundra to the closest neighbour
|
I love people who think that we just pick a different date close to the US's date just to have our own....
it has nothing to do with anything special happening on that day. For example... Canada's birthday and all. |

My wife worked for one of the finer hotels downtown Toronto and she had to work Christmas day one year, that be the 25th for all those curious. Anyway she said she had an American woman come up to her all pissed off throwing a tantrum cuz all the "god damned" stores were closed and she wanted to go shopping, so my wife kindly explained that it was Christman Day and yes that everything was more than likely closed. Her reply was oh I had no idea you Canadians celebrated Xmas on the same day. :winkwink: I worked in a Ski resort town in the rockies for 5 years don't get me started on tourist questions. |

However aren't there other coincidental holidays that have a similar connotation that fall on dates close to American Holidays? |

The thing I find strange about US holidays is that it's safe to say that there's quite a few bible thumpers - but there's no holiday for Easter but you celebrate Christmas? Is it a number crunching thing and which is more marketable?

I hated Working Holidays as a chef. All the lazy bastards who can;t cook for themselves!
|
We no longer have Halloween because our igloos don't have doorbells and the Caribou were stealing the kids candy.
