for some reason there are more male babies born than female.

technology did not succeed in making a manipulation on the sex of unborn babies and there is currently 500 women for every 1 man.

how would that change our society?

I did get what you were saying initially... and I am not sure of the chances of babies being more of either sex, I have 2 brothers and no sisters.

I do know that if there were more men than women (like 500 to 1) there would be little chance of babies at all and eventually the human race would die off.

Well maybe not at that low a ratio, but if it were 5,000 to 1 well you see where this is going.
