wtf there's a damn hurricane like every 2 weeks...
|
It looks like this one is going to run up the west coast of Florida ?
|
is it going to hit the east coast at all?
|
Damn, that is just terrible.
:( |
I'm just about hurricaned out for this year. But is it wrong to admit that I kinda want to see it go to the Greek alphabet??? Only one more to go.

bring it on, i'm ready for this one |
All these 5 day track projections have proven themselves to be just that, projections.
The only certain paths are within the 24 to 48 hour window as we've all seen. As it stands now it should hit North or South of Naples on the West coast and then deintensify over the everglades a bit and cruise over the East side of South Florida. If we're lucky it will get steered enough South from the westerlies that it will miss Florida completely. But I'd say the Keys are going to get it for sure and the Bahamas will also since they'll be in the North East quadrant either crossing through or as it turns North up the US East coast. |
i'm FL blood... so use to these things it's like an afternoon shower :upsidedow

That link he posted said Wilma is 150 mph now. You might want to rethink the bring it on part, lol. |
holy hell... it went up to 150mph in the last 3 hours. We're gonna need to buy extra beer for this one. If this island gets a direct hit from that. Expect to not see me online for about a month... that is how long it will take to get power back. Our power comes from Miami.. 140 miles away.

One of the main reasons I moved from California was earthquakes. I did the big one in 1989 and didn't want to do another one. I'm still surprised that people live in Florida.

Bad news to all the people who live in Florida. You better move far from that place.
|
what has world come to. Hurricane , floods, earthquakes ...tsunamis.... whats next

Most people get shit damamaged cause they either live in dumps, dont' prepare, or freak out. FL is above sea level (most of it).. so it's really just the wind that fucks things up. Board up your shit, tie down the patio furniture, and wait it out.. simple as that. |

Andrew only killed 24 people. And when you consider the direct hits its really not a large number. Southeast Florida has only had 5 major hits in 150 years. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gifs/table10.gif |

If you live in a concrete bunker on high ground, kick back and enjoy the ride. If you live in a wood structure of any sort and are in the way of a cat 5, prepare to kiss your equity goodbye. Quote:

you dont' need to tell a FL boy about hurricanes... especially if you dont' live here lol. For us, the tourist are evacuated first, then if it's bad enough, it's mandatory for residents. My house can take a 5... 2ft cement walls, base, and ceiling struts.... but very few structures in this city will. Key West is old and historic, 90% of it will be gone, and the island would be inaccessable for 4 months or more.
If it remains a 5, and gets within 50 miles from Key West.. i'm packing my shit and booking it. |

It'd certainly be a more stark statistic if categorized under 'deaths due to hurricane' than if categorized under 'deaths due to incompetant fuckwits in government too busy lining their own pockets to give a fuck about the little guy'. I suspect the number of deaths caused by that dwarf most any other measure. :winkwink: |
If this storm has to hit someone, let it be florida and hope this thing doesn't take off north and hit those poor people in LA again. Florida can take this storm much better than them right now.
I would rather have this storm hit me than them. |
Ahh Shit !
|
Damn. This year has been crazy. Mother nature is pissed off at us humans. Don't we have like 6 more weeks of huricane season left too? Good luck you guys! Get out early.
|
strange times indeed
so many storms something is wrong |
This is gonna be a bad one?
Under the forecast, South Florida would be on the storm's right, or more vicious side, and could see up to 7 inches of rain, starting as early as Friday morning. The winds would pick up on Saturday and rage through the night. Conditions would start clearing on Sunday. |
Man from the looks of that I'm betting it's going to move up a little and exit the state somewhere around Daytona..
|
Awsome looks like a great weekend to take the boat out.
the news always makes it sound so much worse than it is. most of the time they are just tropical storms which is a little rain. Fear is an amazing tool I live on the water in Tampa And when i first moved here I was scared as hell evertime i watched the news now I know its normally a little rain shower. if it gets worse at least i know And can leave |
