Is It A Good SEO idea to have a - in domain names?

Is It A Good idea to have a - in domain names? For example is pussybitch.com more search engine friendly then pussy-bitch.com ? Does it make a difference one way or another in terms of getting listed in the Search Engines?

No.

I use them for branding.

for the most part no... maybe more clear for the surfer to read in the se's

It might matter if the 2 words could make different words.

like NUDES TICK together could be NUDE STICK if it was www.nudestick.com , not www.nudes-tick.com

The original reason (besides the name without the dash being taking) is because if someone using the domain name as the hyperlink anchor text supposedly the search engines will count it as two or more words rather than one.

without the dash used to be good for typeins - but they dont work anymore except on AOL - so for SEO - either works - even the .net or other domain TLD - It is fun to watch all these people that sell domains for typeins these days :)

irrelevant.

Thanks for all the feedback. What about .info .net .biz .us etc? I know a .com domain is the first choice and .net is the second but what comes in 3rd 4th and 5th? :upsidedow
