Freaking tricker-treaters out on Oct 31 - need advice

Well, I already have this freaky ass all black scarecrow outfit, and a specialty huge bowl with the bottom cut out, which I put 50-60 king size snickers bars in.

I got a "fake arm" so I can use my real arm to stick in through the bottom of the bowl and make the grab the occasional kids hand....

I just sit there on the porch looking like a stuffed dummy (which is easier, because I have that fake arm and I intentioanlly bend it the wrong way so kids think its fake).....wait for the greddy little buger that takes more than one and then its on like donkey kong. If they take just one, they don't get scared, not a bit. (there is a "scary" sign that says take ONE....and I put headstones on my walkway of little kids that took more than one piece of candy)

Advice needed:

I need some dark, and I mean DARK music that can be played somewhat loud in the backround.... keep in mind, no swearing inthe music, there are kids around and all....

Any help appreciated.

After Shock Media 10-18-2005 04:32 PM

Anything done by ABBA. I instantly makes me think of murder and killing innocent bystanders.

I would find some creepy ass banjo backwoods non lyrics type stuff, or some violin music. Both of those can really work. Lyrics often dispell any fear.

Marilyn Manson's a wanker though. If you want to play some "dark" music that is easy to find, Rammstein would be a good choice. It's in German, so the swearing doesn't matter.

Play the original version of "Black Sabbath" by Black Sabbath. Also, get a chainsaw and take the chain part out, and run around revving it pretending to be trying to kill people. Its scary as fuck, cause no one will know if you're a crazed lunatic or not, cause you can't tell if the chain is missing until blood starts flying. :thumbsup

Babagirls 10-18-2005 09:07 PM

Marilyn Mansons "Sweet Dreams" doesnt have any swear words in it. If you're burning a CD, i'd recomend throwing that song in the mix.

Linguist 10-18-2005 09:21 PM

Ulver - Kveldssanger
Empyrium - Weiland
These are folkish acousting albums with a dark feeling.. try em out and see if they will suit the mood. :)

If you just want something slow and 100% unusual/creepy try these albums:

Ulver - lyckantropen themes
Ulver - a quick fix of melancholy
Ulver - svidd neger - this one has more modern feel to it

poppet 10-18-2005 09:23 PM

Try Type O Negative, Ministry, Orgy, Marilyn Manson, Sisters Of Mercy, Blood For Blood (though that one might be QUITE objectionable to the parental units), or some good old fashioned Toccata Und Fuge en D Minor

Project-Shadow 10-18-2005 09:32 PM

Play some Spice Girls, im sure that'll scare the crap outa em all.
You could attempt to play some Opeth or Nightwish, although thats not really scary/dark. Korn would work.. but unfortunately each other word is a naughty word, shock horror.

get on your favorite p2p program, i recommend kazaa for this, and type in "exorcist" and do an audio search

reynold 10-19-2005 04:48 AM

Meditate on some Queen's songs like Bohemian Rhapsody.

Tat2Jr 10-19-2005 04:53 AM

Coil - Gold is the metal

No swearing, and extremely dark. They did the hellraiser soundtrack.

Check out these guys:
http://www.emusic.com/artist/10557/10557144.html

They worked on the soundtrack for some great horror movies and may be just what you are looking for!

NickPapageorgio 10-19-2005 06:23 AM

Or some Danny Elfman. (Batman soundtrack, Nightmare before christmas, Simpsons, more...) He does some stuff that is very dark.

Babagirls 10-19-2005 08:07 AM

Pink Floyd's "The Wall" , too.

iBanker 10-19-2005 11:25 AM

I think I'm going to end up having to record this. As long as my brother isn't working, I'll have him over to record on the digital camera. Or maybe just mount it somewhere. Should be good stuff.

Lots of good advice here. Don't you wish you had a week off to plan this stuff? lol
