Yes DatingGold.com did encounter a problem with approximately 10 checks of the thousands that were sent out.

Here is what occured:

We use a dedicated bank account that is used solely to pay affiliates.

We send large wires to this bank account twice a month to have funds to pay affiliates.

The bank credited another company's accout with OUR funds, however the bank assured us that they would clear all checks. Unfortunately do to human and computer error on there behalf this was not the case. Luckily within a few hours they fixed the problem and funded our account properly. Which is why only a small number of checks encoutered a problem.

We apologize for the error and intend to prevent this from happening agin by leaving a higher balance in the account we use to pay affiliates and possibly switching banks altogether.

If you encoutered a problem, please contact if you have not already spoken with us.

Any rumors of us having financial problems, etc, etc just isn't true. We have paid on time and never had a problem in the past 3+ years, unfortunately a small number of affiliates fell victim to the banks error.

One of our affilaites check was refused about 6 months ago, cause they said the signature didn't match.. we use a stamp for every check!! :1orglaugh

I hate banks and I hate wires. But that's business.

You know what sucks also - Rick bringing me a stack of affiliate checks returned from the usps with no good address. I have to spend time tracking down affiliates from various different programs we run and trying to get a new address. Of course if there email bounces, which some do, then I have to search more.

Found a guy last week who was a sextoy affiliate of ours from 98-99 and still has some obscure page up somewhere and sending 1-2 orders per month.. Luckily his phone # was still good, but email, addr, etc was a no go. We had like 5 months of checks for him. He didn't want them anymore, guess what he does now "Pastor" :)

I would think that almost all decent sized programs have had this happen to them in the past. Some just weren't as unlucky, i.e. getting called out on the boards.

It happened.

They apologized.

Handled it with class.

Bummer for those that were affected. Maybe ask them to make up for the mistake if they have not offered already? My 2 cents.

Allan is one of the most stand up guys in this business. To bring stuff like this to the board instead of working it out with the program is absolutely CHILDISH.

banks suck they tend to act like they are doing you a favor.

If your bank fixed their "error" in a few hours as you said, then why did the check bounce a 2nd time when his bank deposited a 2nd time??...... :disgust

I don't think that is accurate information. Like I said tons of checks would have bounced if the problem was not quickly attended to.

good post. Allan is a great guy and I am sure his first priority is to compensate his affiliates who fell victim to the bank error.

i dont see a problem with stuff like this, shit happens. as long as you guy pay for the fees involved with it bouncing. its the sponsors who bounce checks and dont pay them back who you have to worry about.

Thanks to everyone who supports us, you know as well as us that we are a stand up program.

i was one of the people effected by this error, small check (mid $XXX), DG has been very good with handling this situation. the bank wire should hit the destined account tommorrow, i'll post if theres a problem, i doubt there will be though.. carry on =]

Nobody should question Allan, his program, or his team. We have the pleasure of doing alot of business with Dating Gold. Allan and Greg are also personal friends whom I have know for years and I can tell you that they are incredible people and have a great business as well.

He got a bad check for a fairly large sum and nobody was talking to him, what else should he have done? He hasnt been with dating gold very long, I know because I referred him. By the way they still havent put his account under mine even though I've requested it and so has he, several times.

So I guess if you get a bad check for $6200 and nobody is talking to you, just dont question it folks.

Sucks that the bank screwed up. All of my datinggold checks always cash.

That other thread became a cluster fuck. I can understand the affiliate being concerned but everything else that was going on was BS.

Dating Gold does well for me I am glad you guys put out an official response.

mine was returned as well, no big deal i'm sure they'll get it straightened out, it happens.
