how to get rid of a scammer like this? Help please
 

Hey everyone,

how to get rid of a scammer like www.madvids.net . He did a total rip of my site www.gals4free.net. He already changed some aspects of it but it still looks way to similar. So i went ahead and contact him some more but he refuses to change anything else. Btw he is also hotlinking the thumbs from http://www.marksvids.com/ . I contacted him about 10mins ago but if anyone knows him directly tell him to block it properly in htaccess.

So ok.. i now started contact about all his trades, his sponsor programs.. and last thing on the list i want to get to is his host. So im checking http://www.whois.sc/madvids.net and i see DNS1.NAME-SERVICES.COM which im not sure goes to which host. so i try http://www.NAME-SERVICES.COM and see powered by enom at the bottom and go there. Just fired of an email to them so lets see what comes out of that.

Anything else on the list that i can do to shut this asshole down?

close yes but its gonna be damn hard to get that down since the logo is the same font but nothing else is. He didnt copy graphs did he?

He copied the tables too at start but removed those already. Nope i dont own the copyright to the jumping girl, and even if its a "case" its probably just gonna cost me money as i think im gonna going against some broke ass shithead

Its the principle here man.. right now other then the girl on the logo i cant "officially" bitch to him even if i would hold to copyright to the cartoon girl. Its just it pisses me of when someone rips of my entire site like that.. before when he ripped of the tables and stuff its kinda hard to copyright those anyway isnt it? The CSS is the exact same, still same names and all. Right now it doesnt look like a total rip anymore as he ditched the tables already but at first it was simply a complate copy with other sized thumbs in it

I get your drift. Still. You have to agree if youre using copyrighted stuff and complaining someone else took it every lawyer will give you the wtf look.

Get a logo done, cough up a few 100 at www.adultcreation.com and IF someone steals it, send them a c&d or whatever and tell them youll sue their ass.

If someone stole the DTC logo thats what would happen. And MAJOR compensation.

we got a total redesign ready to launch within two days done by the awesome guys at www.bluedesignstudios.com .. so once again.. its purely the principle here as the site wont look much alike in a few days. And the girl in the logo has been done by our previous designer, but as far as i know that doesnt make it copyrighted. Don't you have to register it at some place? the entire logo that is? Haven't done this before, so im curious about it.

well for one its exclusively made for us and yes its copyright as well, not the slogan but the logo is yes. costs a few bucks takes some time but its worth it imho.

The design from bluedesign is also exclusively made for us, so where do i go to "copyright" it. Or simply by ordering a design at a recognized design studio makes it copyrighted? Sounds to easy to me?

in some countries yes in other no, talk to your lawyer bout it, he knows where to copyright stuff. Globally is expensive but EU/US isnt, just takes time.

They are both even named logo01.jpg :) What he did was copy that graphic, open it in photoshop, "painted" out your site name and added his own. The jumping girl doesn't move even a single pixel when you go from page to page so atleast the logo and the BG color are a direct copy. Good luck...

since you don't own the rights to your website... where did YOU rip it from? THAT'S the question.

haha lol.. you are funny.. the design that is up right now was done by myself except for the logo i had that designed by someone like 4 years ago. Its time for a fresh look so bluedesignstudios.com just did a redesign which is about to launch in 2-3 days. So please get real and get of my back. I wonder how many TGPs "own the rights" to their own designs. I mean if simply ordering the designs with a design company "give you the rights" then i guess most do, but i bet only a very small % of tgps actually go out and copyright their shit on sites like copyright.com previously mentioned.
