PR7 for a 1 page site I never promoted
 

For some reason one of my domain landing pages has a PR7. I don't know of any sites linking to it, nor did I optimize any text or elements of the site. :1orglaugh Link outs, here I come :1orglaugh :pimp

hahaha reverse engineered? all you did was get lucky and have a few people link to you. if indeed its real pr. which is probably less than likely.

Well that's what my Google toolbar says. Also, I checked it with http://www.pagerank.net/pagerank-checker/ Same PR score. I've had this domain/page for over 3 years. I'm not sure when I got that ranking. Pleasant surprise though. I've almost forgotten about it since I have over 200 domains. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

to catch PR7 from a few blog backlinks, the blogs would need to be PR9-10.. unlikely. Not that google scores from this, but do a linkdomain:yoursite.com in yahoo, it shows a lot more backlinks than google's broken tool. also check it out in urltrends.com, it'll show an alexa/google/yahoo backlinks count.

When I do that, there's 3 blogs. But they're different from the Google ones. Talk about a fucking mystery. Maybe I should buy links on those and the ones that show up for Google link check. :thumbsup

Hey, man, I was just asking a question. I am not sporting a sig so I'm not promoting anything for page views. I just wanted to know if anyone else experience this. And maybe possible explanation.

shrug.. i'm not quick to call bs unless i know for certain. just that there are probably other factors at work here. i have a single page site that caught toolbar PR4 and google doesn't show any backlinks other than 5 of my own domains that are PR0. it must have got a link on one of my sigs somewhere, but google's link: tool doesn't show much of anything on a LOT of sites. and it serve's a benefit to webmasters, if you knew the entire offsite SEO strategy of a competitor, you could just plunk down $X and quickly ascend the ranks with/above them, taking advantage of all the research they've done. this doesn't apply so much in adult, since we know all of the linklists, etc.. but in mainstream, this is a huge deal.

check google cache first :)
