i've been shopping around and for the price (because a screen is included) seems good.

BlackCrayon 10-17-2005 08:48 PM

www.futureshop.ca

only problem is, the price is low because of rebates. But it's still worth it. I can't even find barebone kits built cheaper than this.

tedwinters 10-17-2005 11:09 PM

emachines have always scared me... :(
but looks like an okay price...

prob with futureshop, its if you get prob, can take 3 month to get your computer back

75% of repairs are made outside the store

phatzaneŽ 10-17-2005 11:20 PM

Same here.. I would never buy a emachine.

Kassidy 10-17-2005 11:59 PM

Sounds ok as long as it isn't an e-machine (e-crap). And mail-in rebates are a scam, btw - they always seem to get 'lost in the mail'. Caveat emptor, dude.

tedwinters 10-18-2005 12:09 AM

the online one on futureshop.ca that I saw like that was:
eMachines Athlon 64 Computer, 17hahaha8221; LCD Monitor & All-in-1 hahaha8220;See Special Offer Tab for Mail-in Rebateshahaha8221;

Steen2 10-18-2005 12:14 AM

keep a close eye on www.techbargains.com and www.redflagdeals.com (not as good but CAN). If you have time; watch for 2-4 weeks and you'll see some awesome deals.

Best of luck!

effer 10-18-2005 12:22 AM

I don't think it's really a good deal.

You're spending $800 on mostly crap. This would be a good system for a light user (email/browsing), and perhaps that's all you're asking for. Even still, I would piece together something better balanced at http://www.ncix.com (canadian) and have it all priced matched at http://www.atic.ca (usually cheaper but less reputable).

Radik 10-18-2005 12:28 AM

look pretty standard.. atic is good i've also had good luck with anitec.ca, atic was bought out by a chinese couple i think; it's kinda hard to talk with them. I think the english guys name is kevin at atic just ask for him.

reynold 10-18-2005 03:49 AM

Great specs you have there dude but I am not sure if the prize is reasonable enough.

fris 10-18-2005 04:32 AM

www.tigerdirect.ca use them they rock.

These were the exact companies I was going to mention. I haven't shopped at NCIX but I know someone that has and really liked them. I've done all my shopping at ATIC and haven't had any problems, though I've always went into the store and picked up the parts myself. Personally I would steer clear of Future Shop as I've had many problems with their products in the past. :2 cents:

SmokeyTheBear 10-18-2005 08:45 AM

i can never understand how they get away with false advertising like that..

Theres 3 seperate rebates to get it at that price , and the very first one i checked said the rebate can't be used on pc/monitor bundles ..?

ColBigBalls 10-18-2005 09:00 AM

Ram dammit.. Where is the ram!! Scottie i need more RAM!!!

:winkwink:

looks good over all

boner 2.0 10-18-2005 09:03 AM

I would avoid futureshop at all cost. :2 cents: Get yourself a Dell or take a look at NCIX and build something decent :thumbsup I see that you are in Quebec if you order with NCIX, you won't get raped with all those taxes, you only have to pay 7% or 7.5% (I can't remember which one :1orglaugh)

I don't think it's a great price, having to deal with Futureshop is a total pain in the ass..

J-$ 10-18-2005 09:30 AM

www.oemexpress.ca buy it in separate parts for 800 canadaian you can get something killer... i have a p5 3GB with 992RAM 120HD for around the same price, without the screen tho

cool1 10-18-2005 10:20 AM

That seems like a fair price for that one.
