Plasma or LCD

which one ido you have and which brand?

I wasn't impressed by what I saw at CompUSA yesterday, some of these $5000 sets left a lot to be desired in terms of picture quality.

I'll stick with my trusty old cathode ray tube. I love to bathe in it's radiation. Keeps me warm in the winter months. :)

I have 3 plasmas and an LCD. I would choose plasma any day.

Pioneer PDP5050HD is the best one I have but it costs $6-7K

s9ann0 10-17-2005 01:06 PM

not again!

axelcat 10-17-2005 01:08 PM

plasma..

ImmoX 10-17-2005 01:21 PM

plazma ....

shermo 10-17-2005 01:24 PM

I prefer LCD. I have a small 32" Sony. Just in the bedroom though. I have a 62" projection in my loft though. I rarely watch TV though, so it's mostly for company and video games.

got any burn-in issues with the plasma? we tend to have the TVs on a lot and I think plasma wouldn't work well.

have a 47 inch panasonic hd and i love it

Brad Gosse 10-17-2005 02:58 PM

I have not had any burn in issues with the plasmas, one of them is primarily used as a computer display which would have the most burn-in risk but so far it's clean.

Drake 10-17-2005 03:08 PM

I was wondering that too. It seems like most would choose plasma

lazycash 10-17-2005 03:53 PM

Neither, get one of the new 1080 dlp's.

sperbonzo 10-17-2005 04:01 PM

Neither.... Personally I think DLP is by far the best

Sosa 10-17-2005 04:08 PM

I like my big badass 65" widescreen rear projection heh. Takes up a lot of room but it is nice.

I just ordered a new 52'' dlp, can't wait to get it. I looked at dozens of big screens, plasmas, lcds and dlps before I made up my mind. If price is no consideration I'd probably say go with a high end plasma. If you're looking to get the best bang for your buck I'd say dlp all the way, the quality of picture is so close to plasma and lcd for half the price. Check out www.pricegrabber.com as the pricing on big screens is coming way down and ordering online can save you a ton.

Platinumpimp 10-17-2005 04:09 PM

LCD is the future, plasma will burn in eventually.
