Lets be honest here; hasn't the self promotion just gotten a little out of hand? I will agree, back when I was HOA I did the same thing so I'm not being hypocritical here.

Other than self promotion, company promotion, or free porn...why are you here?

Why am I here ? Well working for myself now I miss the comradery of a office so this has replaced that.

I'm with Tony on this one. Ever since I started working in an office I've been spending much less time on GFY.

Self promotion is the only thing GFY is worth visiting for.

I sometimes ask myself the same question. There are some in the industry that do visit this board and at times I do need a laugh - outside of that, I dont really waste my time on here other than to read over when I am eating my lunch. It is now a game of finding out who are the surfers just trying to create a name for themselves since their own life sucks and creating shit is the only way they get attention and feel powerful.

Don't kid yourself, bro. The people here that you think are your "friends" will turn on you in a heartbeat if things don't go their way or if they don't need you anymore.

Trust me, I know first-hand. Hence why my nick is now Rob and not HOA. I was used and abused more than a Shanghai Whore. Some of the people that I thought were my "friends" turned into the biggest fucking assholes when it didn't benefit them to be my "friend" anymore.

And you can take that to the bank! No one here is your friend, they are merely people looking for the best deals or someone that they can fuck over. :2 cents:

to a certain point. The friends I do have in this industry are ones that I have made on other boards, they just happen to post here. Keeping this tight network we have shared a great deal and never in my 10 years has anyone of them stabbed me in the back nor spoke out against me, and neither do I.

First off Rob, I am going to request that you always remind us that you are HOA at least once in every thread you post in for a little while.

Secondly, I think you should probably tighten your use of the word "friend."

There are people I am friendly with, but there are fewer that I call friend and open my doors to. I honestly am not concerned about those people turning on me.

Just recognize the difference between friend and acquaintance.

You are 100% correct, Baddog. There are people that I still talk to and consider to be "friends". The sad part is that all of the people that acted like they were my friends because I had something to offer have me jaded towards people that have had nothing but love for me. The same people that never asked for anything in return except my friendship.

I did not mean to say EVERYONE on here is like that. Just that most are and to be careful who you choose to bed with.
