ok. tricky question. I don't want to break any rules or do anything unethical, so i'm gonna ask what you all think.

I got this project online today. It's not finished, but i am looking for a way to "leak" the buzz & get things hopping on this. It's not an adult site. so, lets say i want some press or buzz generated about this. what's a good way to leak the info out there into the great big internet other than SE.

i dont want to go hopping from bbs to bbs spamming one post wonders, so that's a no no.

I know i cant just email companies cuz that's spam, so what other options.
it's not a typical site so link trades are out of the question & SE is just going to take too long especially with no link trades going on??

Umm... if it's a product, offer freebies to people to review it for you?

If you cant trade links then buy some. And most boards will allow a one time announcement. Just hit the ones you allready post at for starters.

Also buy up some sigs. Its cheap advertising to targeted people.

Just do a 'one time announcement' on GFY, like alot of other companies do.

You can always try those outlanding goldenpalace casino publicity stunts using ebay as an unwitting host to your nefariously clever promo schemes. Examples: tatoo on forehead, human billboard, etc etc

Nah, we've never chatted, I don't think. Goldenpalace's schtick is the first thing that came to mind when I thought of CHEAPEST way to get the MOST publicity.

I so bad want to send goldenpalace the link to a site i just put up & see if they'll sponsor it or take out an ad :1orglaugh

If you run a few blogs, let your writer persona review the product like, "Hey look what I found, this is great!" Or pay some other blogs to do the same. Don't spam other people's blogs, that's just rude.

Press Releases... like local newspaper, trade papers, free dailies, and their corresponding websites. Any websites in the same biz or interest that are professionally done.

Seriously you should check out This Guy . I've read his book and it gives alot of helpfull hints concerning your scenario.
