Can you wash a Down Comforter and Down Pillows?
In a top load washing machine? I've read online that you should use an industrial front load but I have a rather large top load.
Has anyone done this before? They're not $3000 Egyptian sheets but I wouldn't want to damage them. Any advice? |
na dude, i wouldnt go that route
|
No
don't do it .... i made the mistake and tried a pillow once lol take it to the cleaners man 25 bux and they will get it like new :) |
No don't do it. I did it and it fucked them up.
|
Good stuff! I'm glad that I came here for advice before just taking the plunge and doing it.
To the cleaners it is. :thumbsup |
If you buy a top load Maytag Neptune TL you can since it doesn't have an agitator. Just got me one yesterday: http://www.universal-akb.com/manewafa.html

Have them dry cleaned. Now I know this wil stop you from purchasing the 3k sheets, but...
|
I wash them in my front load washer, but I have never tried in a top load.
When you dry them, stick a tennis ball in with them (clean!) and it will help plump the feathers back up :) |
dry clean them
|
Tired it before and all the feathers ended up in one end of the comforter. Totally fucked it up.
|
Dude dry clean them. Its the best way. I don't even like using a front loader because they can still clump.
|
Bad Idea!
