American arrested in Philippine cybersex raid!
This guy, James Kelly, used to be the HR person at videosecrets/vs media
Story Manila - Philippine police arrested a 39-year-old American man after raiding a "cybersex" den he was suspected of running near a former U.S. airforce base north of the capital Manila, officials said on Tuesday. Police said Monday's raid was the 10th such operation to be raided in August as they step up their campaign against Internet pornography rings that are often run by foreigners. The dens charge customers, mostly Western men, a few dollars to watch images of Philippine women and girls through webcam technology. Salvador Manga, head of the region's criminal investigation team, said police found six women, including two minors, working as "models" in an Internet cafe in Angeles City operated by James Paul Kelly, an American who held a Philippine tourist visa. Police said they were searching for Kelly's partner who was believed to be Canadian. "They violated several Philippine laws for operating a pornographic site," Manga told reporters. "They were not supposed to be operating any business in the country". Catholic Church officials and non-government organisations have been raising pressure on the authorities to crack down on Web sites run by foreign pornography syndicates. Police said an American husband and wife escaped arrest last week when they raided another Internet cafe in Angeles City. In May, two Dutch brothers died during a shootout when police raided a cybersex den in Manila. Reuters |
"including two minors"
sad if true |

Fuck, I was just having a drink with him 2 weeks agao when I went back to Angeles for a visit...... If you want to SHOOT porn people, the Philippines has to be right up there with Iran as a logical choice. JUST peeps I know personally this year: 3 dead 7 jail (now including Jim) 4 deported (who had enough money AND brains to buy their way to the airport immediately upon being arrested). A great country that I really do adore, even with it's fuckups, but NOT the place to shoot porn. EVER :2 cents: :2 cents: :2 cents: |
if im not mistaken, this story is quite old

Ok, I am just curious here. I don't know anything about laws there. I get the fact that he could get in trouble for having underage models, and I totally understand that.
But is having any type of pornography running out of that country ILLEGAL? I mean, ALL of it even if the ladies were all of age ? Or is just because he had a tourist Visa and not citizenship? I'm confused. I get the underage models and why he would get in trouble for that (if it's true), but I'm trying to understand if porn is competely illegal there? Or if it's not illegal, is it just because he wasn't a citizen and didn't have the right to run a business from there? |
They dont play in those countries.

Interesting - carry on guys

that sucks man, seems like alot of countries are cracking down on that shit

I know nothing about the guy in question but lets say lived there and you thought you had some good connections or maybe ran in some powerful circles, police protection... it may not seem like a risk to you. We shoot in several 3rd world countries and all of them have some level of risk based on who I know or don't know, local laws and who you may be pissing off (or fucking their girlfriend or sister) at the time. Several if you know I was busted in Colombia last month and spent 2 days in jail before I was cleared. That was almost MY day. On the flip side I shot in Venezuela once and had police drama. Lucky for us the girl I was somewhat dating at the time also works for Hugo Chavez (the president). I called her and within 2 minutes of her talking to the head officer, we were sent on our way. She didn't want to date anymore after that but assured me that freedom was just a phone call away if it were to ever happen again. Low risk for me in that country. High risk for someone else. Living in the United States it is ILLEGAL to shoot in ANY state except California. All of you shooting outside of that state is taking a risk. Shoot something harder or nastier than someone likes and you could be charged with obscenity. All risks. I guess what I'm trying to say is that all of us take risks in thei industry in one form or another. I don't think it is stupid, it's just what we have to do. |
Sounds like the PI and the US are on the same track, bust as many dirty pornographers as possible...
Christian religious zealots, Muslim religious zealots...seem to like killing and imprisoning and raping as much as the next criminal, but in the name of g-d which makes it even more sickening imo... :/ sinners |
DWB, nice sig. :)
