A friend of mine has a Hesse M4 Carbine for sale. (pics)
A buddy of mine is selling this gun. It comes with a 30 round magazine. I know some of you guys are into that. If you wanted to make an offer let me know. He's trying to get $650 for it, shipping included.
He needs an ink signed copy of a valid federal firearms license from the buyer. http://www.turboface.com/misc/gun1.jpg http://www.turboface.com/misc/gun2.jpg http://www.turboface.com/misc/gun3.jpg |

LMAO :1orglaugh Good luck with that here. I don't even have an FFL. And why does he need that anyway? For shipping purposes? |
Quote:
Ya, what was I thinking. This is GFY. He's here right now. He said that all anyone has to do is to go thru a transfer dealer, like here - http://www.gunbroker.com/User/DealerNetwork.asp It just costs about $20 to do it that way. |
Quote:
Not necessary. Why does he want to do it that way? |

Maybe I'm missing something here. I've bought many a weapon directly from licensed dealers over the years. In fact, I could go buy that very gun right now and not need to jump through any hoops. Well, best of luck to you and your friend. |
All I've found about that manufacturer is that it's lower quality than Bushmaster.

You are missing something here my friend. In order for him to ship the firearm to you (legally) he needs to go to a gun store in his town and have them ship it. They in turn (under federal law) can only ship it to another firearms dealer with a valid FFL. The recieving gun dealer then logs it into his books, and logs it out to you (the purchaser). No way to do it (legally) other than that. And yes Hesse is (or rather was) a very low quality gun. Stick with Colt or Bushmaster (preferably Colt) for an AR-15 or clone. :2 cents: |

My friend says that you're right on about the shipping. He also says that it's as good quality as a Bushmaster or Colt but for less than half the price. It's all Colt parts on a Hesse reciever. |
Quote:
Well no offense to your friend, and I wish him luck with the sale...........................but statements like "as good as a Colt for half the price" should make anyone a bit leary. If he built the gun from scratch he could have bought a reciever from Hesse and put Colt parts in it. But that would have only saved him the $30 difference in price of the recievers and makes no sense at all. If he bought the gun assembled by Hesse than it has all Hesse parts to match the reciever. Urban legends are always afloat about "clone" guns that are actually the same as the original at half the price and a different company logo on it. One of the more common is Taurus PT99 (a copycat of the famed Beretta M9) being manufactured in Berettas factory and sold at a discount under the Taurus banner. In reality Taurus firearms are made in South America, and made using much less quality materials than the (American made) Beretta. Taurus and Beretta have no affilaition and either do Hesse and Colt. Like I said, IF he built the gun from scratch he could have used Colt parts on a Hesse reciever. And since the reciever is equivelant to the frame and body of a car, why would you buy a Ford frame/body and put the engine and interior of a Ferrari in it? :2 cents: |
I'm scared that you all know so much about guns..

I didn't miss that. In fact, I specifically asked if it was because of shipping but that question went overlooked. There are other options besides sending a gun through UPS. |

Actually Pink Pimp you are wrong. There are NO other (legal) options under federal law than shipping through the US Postal Service. |

That's a neat looking gun.

I should put a side note: there were no options other than USPS back in 2001 when I owned the gun store. Laws may have changed since then. |
Alright alright UPS..............USPS...................whats the difference!
As a friend just pointed out via ICQ, I am adding an 'S' where there should be none. UPS is the legal way to ship firearms and NOT USPS! Been a long day. My bad AaronM! |
contact me on icq or tell your friend to do so
