cpanel hosting question
Is there any short cut to put same files in multiple folders?
I have 100 folders---want to replace somefiles in all folders.(replacing files are same for all folders) Is there any shortcut ? |
if the files aren't completely different, you can downlaod the files and use srwin to find/replace across the set... other than that I don't know.I'm sure there's an ssh command or procedure to do what you need - anyway, here's a bump - good luck with it.

do you want to copy a new file over those files ? or replace some text in those files ?
|
Please don't use the word 'folders'! That's Microsoft jargon! If I understand it correctly, why not upload to the directory the subdirectories are in and then do something like 'cp new-file.html */file-to-be-replaced.html -R' to copy it into all subdirectories?
And if you have 100 directories with the same files in them, it might be better to upload it to one directory and create 100 symlinks (or 'shortcuts' in Microsoft terms) to the one dir. But I guess you know. |
