Exactly, and that can be applied to every single type of market medium :thumbsup

Sure, TGP traffic can be nice... I've send 204433 uniques to a site from adultpaymaster and did 703 sales (at 35$) that's a 1:290. Some sites convert like gold ;)

And of course you are right, not least because all traffic is worth money... when you know what to do.

Which begs the question of why the vast majority of sponsors don't go any further than making the basic tools available, then leaving their affiliates to get on with it, hoping that among them are some who know (or learn) how to use those tools.

This isn't a "I want sponsors to do everything for me" post, just an observation that many sponsors spend a lot of time and money attracting affiliates, but ignore what might be the most effective use of their resources: teaching their affiliates how to be successful.

If you are one of the dozen or so sponsors who turn up in every stats report from a big TGP or links list, or get talked about regularly, maybe the "traditional" approach is efficient enough. They already have a stable of successful affiliates. Lots of newbies will sign up with them and some will stay. But what about all the sponsors who do not have such a high profile? They have to work harder to get affiliates in the first place and if they get already successful ones, the chances are they will only be replacing a weak sponsor in a minor spot. For these sponsors it would surely be in their own interests to reduce the churn of affiliates who earn them little or nothing.

TGP traffic sent to the console tours?

BVF 10-12-2005 09:21 AM

I've only sent 1,149 total hits to candyblackass and I made $30. So who knows?...Maybe I'll get three sales with less than 200 hits like I did with another sponsor yesterday.

i signed up since beta, i tested out plasterjher gallery on jizzonline, one of igors sites, i am not sure if the tracking was working or not. cause it only showed like 36 click throughs for that day, and jizzonline gets like 300-450k of traffic a day and was listed on the 2nd row, any other gallery i get mad clicks too, not dissing you or anything just wasnt sure how your stats were setup. hit me up 345801040, and we can get something going, would love to keep pushing your stuff.

Rui 10-12-2005 09:28 AM

Nichedsites had a ton of bugs when they first launched, imo they opened too fast and could have used another week of QA... I think they've fixed them all up now though :)
