Why not to use adbrite

So after endless emails to adbrite [email protected] actully and numberous calls I have to say they are the worse marketing company in the world and makes me wonder how many other webmasters they have shafted. couple weeks ago i received this email a few days before the last thursday of the month which is when they processes who/what needs checks.

In response to growing concern from the AdBrite community, we are discontinuing service to your websites. Please remove all AdBrite code from your site effective immediately.

-AdBrite

now i would be fine with this but my site has done nothing wrong or violated any of their agreements. I even had a few poeple that opted into my marketing spots and PAID ME for the spots through adbrite.

no emails response from them and every time i call they tell me to email and hangup. This isn't very professional and total bullshit. it was only 315 dollars but still bullshit.

anyone from adbrite or has connections with adbrite i'd love to hear from them or you.

My experience with Adbrite isn't the best either - they are horrible for PPC traffic - 0 measures against hitbotting. Then there's also one time when I bought a weekly spot just to have site owner remove the adbrite network ad 2 days later. :disgust

mkx 10-11-2005 08:35 PM

mkx 10-11-2005 09:10 PM

NewbieNudes 10-11-2005 09:41 PM

I use AdBrite for all my sites and they rock!

Every month the checks come in like clockwork. Saves us having to deal with all the admin crap such as bookings, stats and $ processing.

I have been with them since day one too. They are top notch, and always improving the system's effectivness for both buyers and sellers.

Hi,

Sorry AdBrite didn't work out for you. Sometimes the AdBrite community strongly objects to the content of a particular site in our network. That's the only time we remove a site based on its content.

Unfortunately, when this happens, it's "damned if we do, damned if we don't".

If we *don't* remove sites, then people start posting everywhere "AdBrite does business with KKK sites!" or "dead baby sites!" or "bandwidth stealing!" or whatever your site was (which I'm sure I would personally enjoy, otoh I'm a sicko)

If we *do* remove sites (which rarely happens), then we see posts like yours.

I wish there were a way to keep everyone happy. It sounds from your story, however, that it may not have been handled properly. If people did in fact purchase ad space directly for your site, you should get paid for it. Log in, check "your earnings", and let me know if there's a problem.

Sincerely,
Philip Kaplan
Founder, AdBrite

We have extensive anti click-fraud measures. From every test we've seen, our system is more strict than anything else out there as to what counts as a "valid" click.

If an ad stopped running that you paid in advance for, you should be refunded on a prorated basis. Call our toll-free number (on the AdBrite homepage) and let us know!

Without knowing the details, it sounds to me like you should get paid. The only exception is if your ads had excessive false clicks -- but then you would have received a different email.

Message me through GFY with your AdBrite username and I'll have someone look into it.

you can't send private messages through GFY. my email is zak.at.moveclicks.com or post an email address and i will send it.

I think he already expressed his concerns with your toll free contact method.

all their traffic is from fake clicks/hitbots, stay far away, or you can deposit $500 and then see it hit 0 in a couple of days and find out the hard way.

AdBrite's model is to let the advertiser choose on which sites to advertise.

Each site in the AdBrite directory has a "repurchase rate" and "conversion score". We list & explain these stats (among others) to help you determine the relative quality of a site before you buy advertising on it.

Publishers who produce fake clicks are caught and removed (hence the "why did i get kicked out of adbrite?" threads).

As of this writing there are more than 7,200 active sites that use AdBrite. I assure you any quality site you'd find and choose to buy advertising on, is not run by script-kiddies with clickbots. They just don't make good sites.

Hey Phillip glad to see you on GFY answering these questions. Says alot about your care for the Adbrite system. Id like to see more promotion on the adult side of adbrite(aka avnads) but I can understand with the current climate in this business. Keep up the great work and congrats on the financing :)

Philip, post your email, icq, msn and aol contact #'s here... or shut the fuck up.

Adbrite rocks. I remember when it used to be called Marketbanker. One hell of a growth rate too. Hopefully the project I'm working on will have the same rate of growth :)

My god that would be nice. I've been using them since they were marketbanker also, and I can't complain about anything besides the limited payout option.

Spudstr 10-12-2005 09:54 AM

Still waiting for pud to contact me or someone from adbrite to contact me.
