Whats the procedure for recoverring "stolen" domains ?
does anyone know more about this like what do the registra's do is there some person who decides if the domain was stolen or not?
is there a process to retrieve the domain or do the registras just work it out amongst themselves ? |

ROFL I love it |
If it was just stolen via an unauthorized transfer to another registrar, the losing registrar can dispute the transfer. See:
http://www.icann.org/transfers/ http://www.icann.org/transfers/dispu...cy-12jul04.htm Time is of the essence. You should contact both your registrar, and the current registrar to complain, and perhaps seek legal counsel if the domain is valuable. |

get the KY bend over and spread - that is my experience ...

I dunno about other registrars, but I spoke with Melbourne IT re. .COM.AU domains and trying to claim them back. Their response was it's a civil issue and they'd need a court order to transfer it.

registerfly is terrible, but they got back some of my stolen domains once.. not much info on how to do this shit online, but just call the registrar, dont bother emailing them, call and keep calling, if someone doesnt know what you are talking about, ask for the boss etc.

chances are you're screwed...

so what if it was transferred thru more than one registra? would you still appeal to the first registra it went to when it left your control to get it back or do you need to go thru all the registras ?
