I need to be put in touch with the webmaster of Zthumbs.com about something. All he has listed as an e-mail is some yahoo one.

Does anyone know this guy?

thanks. I sent him an e-mail twice & no reply yet.
Thing is I joined his link trade and I'm sending him about 600+ hits a day.
Yesterday he only returned about 48 or so.

Today I have sent over 300 and only 8 returned.
He puts blind links into his gallery section and hasn't added mine yet. A friend of mine has a site listed (sending about 50 hits more per day) and getting almost 2000 return hits.

Pissing me off right now I have sent 317 hits and got 8 returns... my friend has sent 355 and had over 600 returns already for today because his link is placed in the gallery section.

Yeah I love these assholes they do that.. "Send us traffic and we'll send you back 3 TIMES AS MUCH!" Yeah right dick head.. Make sure you contact a webmaster first before you start sending traffic so you know that your going to get a fair return..

Colin runs Zthumbs.com, and many other sites. I think he might be out of town right now, because he's normally very quick to reply to e-mail, and I haven't seen him posting on the boards (he's very active).

Here's a friendly suggestion. Stop sending so much traffic until you hear back from him. I'm not sure about his scripts details, maybe he has all new trades set for a very low return until they are approved(common practice these days to defend against late night cheater auto joins). Maybe your traffic has horrid productivity on his site. At any rate, I'm sure you can find another site to dump hits on right now. I'm sure Colin will get back to you soon. He's one of the most approachable webmasters there are.

Those statements on sign up pages are pure fantasy. But tacking this post on this thread, especially when you call the webmasters assholes, does a disservice to Colin. I'm friends with both of you. I wouldn't be to pleased to see someone compare Martin to an "asshole". Stop being such a sarcastic bastard

Yeah Steve your right man.. Colin is alright with me.. I just get a little fired up by things like this because I've been burned by these guys that promise if you send traffic you will get "tons" back but, it never comes =0(

Know what you mean. I saw somebody posting on another board about giving 300% returns.... "If it sounds too good to be true....."

Yes, I was out of town. I was in orlando for a number of days. If you read the instructions on the webmaster signup page, it says

"The toplist on the front page updates every 10 minutes and contains the top 50 referers. The top 35 referers also receive blind links mixed in the galleries. It makes a BIG DIFFERENCE if you can make it into the top 35. The #35 spot can get more than twice the traffic back as the #36 spot! You must make the top 50 to receive hits back.

Since the blinds are ordered in this way, as perm links and not by script, there will be a peculiar feature. Unless you are sending traffic when the list resets, you will not receive enough traffic back to make the trade worthwhile. I am sure you can work the mathematics of that out yourself. :)

For example, the whole time you are climbing to reach the top 50, you will receive no traffic back.
EXpect to send about 1000 per day to make the top 35 blinds list.

So if you dont make the 1000 hits, your basically just wasting your time??.....sounds like a great deal...LOL...NOT

If that is what it says, that is what it is. No one is forcing anyone else to trade hits with Colin. Colin's a good guy, exceptionally mathematically inclined to boot.

How is this any different than a site that makes a rule "If you can't send 3000 visitors/day, please don't waste my time"?

I like to experiment with different scripts and this is one I wrote that I, along with many other people, really like. It is very simple and effective.

Think of it this way. It is a good sized toplist disguised as a gallery list. Everyone understands what happens if you don't make the bottom of the toplist. This site is the same. The rules are and have always been clearly stated.
