Take care of your own first!
 

yes what happened in pakistan is bad and what happend in the US is bad take care of your own first, there are plenty of people within a mile radius of your home that can use help they need it just as much as the person 10000 miles away, stop trying to be politically correct and help your own FIRST!

I'm with you on that ... sometimes i think people do it for the dramatic effect just for there own ego ... it sounds better when you say i went 5000 miles away to help some poor people rather then i went up the block and helped out the homeless ..

Escort, $30,000 people have died so far, I think the fact that we are the richest country in the world obligates us to lend a helping hand when we can. It is the right thing to do, would you not agree?

Who's to say that those helping in Pakistan are NOT helping their own too? Many of the people who are motivated to donate money and time to something like this may already be volunteering at soup kitchens, clothing drives, PEER groups, etc.

Do what you can, give what you can but don't judge. There is nothing wrong with helping another in need. Regardless of where they are.

if you would visit your local homeless shelters, or local small companies who send warm meals to poor families you will think different.

We get emotional by the images we see, once you see whats happening locally you will know exactly where you should donate your money.

do you know a guy whos real poor that has a rich dad and his own dad wouldnt help his own son?

now this same dad will donate money all over the world but for his own kids nada, some will even say shit like "i worked hard for my money let him work hard too"

again like mikevega said deep inside this people have huge egos and serious problems.

I couldn't agree with you more. My husband and I open our home to others as a clean and sober refuge for when they are in need.

This forum can be very negative and people don't positive things should share.

So I would love to read what positive things you do to better your neighbourhood?

Keep in mind though, the Pakistan situation is of insane magnitude. May end up being 50-60 thousand dead. When it's that overwhelming help is needed from around the world.
