What would a MySpace group with over 9,000+ members be worth?
 

My friend was one of the first people to make a MySpace group, and it's on the second page of "Entertainment (31271 groups)".

His group is in the top 15 out of 31,271 groups in that one cat. The last time I checked the group (about a month ago) there was only 7,000 members. Therefore it's growing pretty quick.

I'm thinking that since all the people in the group are all fans of the group theme it'd be a great marketing opportunity... Since he can design the group homepage however he wants, and be the only person who is allowed to post bulletins.

What do you guys estimate this myspace is worth, and what it will be worth down the road?

Even if you're a member of a group doesn't necessarily imply that the surfer is reading it actively. I've been part of the GFY group for 3-4 months and I haven't visited in over a month.

with something so volatile , you would have to do some tests to prove its value or determine its worth..

i.e. setup a small campaign , see how it goes.

some scumbag reported the attempted sale to myspace, it got terminated. i was pissed.

Well, it's your group. I'm sure you can do whatever you want with it.

... until myspace kills your account, and you won't be able do shit about it. I would try making some $$$ from it, see how much it makes, then you can probably figure 3-6 month profit for it.
