Who's Gonna Buy This 'Flying Car' ???

http://www.moller.com/skycar/

I remember this company from years ago. The owner is on the Coast to Coast AM show tonight.

Fucker supposedly can do 1,500 miles at 300 mph or more. Runs on alcohol. Just a joystick for steering and stopping and turning.

Manowar 10-09-2005 11:25 PM

i'd shit myself if i drove in that

graphical x 10-09-2005 11:27 PM

Some guy in the 20s or 30s supposedly did the same thing.

elitetec 10-09-2005 11:29 PM

wow i would love to get it

Best-In-BC 10-09-2005 11:38 PM

You pay for it, Ill drive it, or fly it, or whatever :winkwink:

KRL 10-09-2005 11:42 PM

NASA is working on flying cars. They estimate within 5 to 10 years it will be a reality. Everything will be computer controlled though so you won't actually be doing the flying.

Ya, but regulation is gonna be a bitch. Reason being is people can't pilot regular cars without fucking up shit left and right.

Can you imagine the assholes you meet on the highway now flying highly flammable sky vehicles?

Just what we need are alcoholic flying car pilots or gang members or crackheads flying around in the sky.

chaze 10-09-2005 11:54 PM

Nice, I always wanted to get flight license.

I guess the price is based on the amount of pre-purchase cars? If it gets down to 500k it might be worth it but you can get a copter for 100-200k now.

RSD 10-10-2005 01:15 AM

Flying should only become available for the elite. People who have a special license etc.. not the crackheads etc..

The roads are full. So the sky is not the limit. Let's get into the sky, plenty of space there.

The thing is, in the near future, their will be virtual tunnels in which you can fly.

JFK 10-10-2005 03:02 AM

if you notice most of the pics are 1-2 yrs old.........probably going to die on the vine :2 cents:

already exist :)

Theo 10-10-2005 03:06 AM

this model is a failure
i saw it in a magazine when i was like 10y.old and now im 27,still no production.

RSD 10-10-2005 03:15 AM

Yup they already exist, what I mean is that they will be used more often by then.

At the moment airlines are using it for landing and stuff.

yea he's been working on it forever but he's finally getting it close to ready to go. I saw a show on it a few days ago and they expect the FCC to give it the approval within the next 5 years. So it will soon be a reality. A very expensive reality but at least it will finally be out there.

HDADULT 10-10-2005 04:39 AM

I love the idea of personal flying however I dont want people flying over my home.
I dont think the idea will ever fly...no pun intended.

Nicky 10-10-2005 04:54 AM

hmmm, would be really cool, but I doubt anyone would be allowed to fly free in those, I bet there would be some hard restrictions on them

Quagmire 10-10-2005 06:28 AM

They gave this guy a plug on Mythbusters when they did the jetpack build show.

The one point they bring up about the personal flying device that stands true with "flying cars" as well is the failure factor. Are you going to trust some dipshit who can't remember to put gas in the car to put gas in the flying car? With rampant stupidity there are going to be flying cars stuck in roofs across north america .

Rinaldo 10-10-2005 06:43 AM

Taliban would love to crash 5 of those into the white house.

EroticySteve 10-10-2005 06:49 AM

I hope these never come to production. As cool as they are. Do you want some moron who shouldnt' be driving having a flight license?

Flight rage could get ugly.

Landings are done in "approach paths" wich change regurarly due to sound regulations over crowded area, etc....

There are no so called "virtual tunnels", flight plans are made from VOR to VOR or DME (beacons) although most routes always have the same flight plan.

jacked 10-10-2005 06:52 AM

no way in hell you'd catch me behind the wheel of one of those lol :1orglaugh

Matt 26z 10-10-2005 07:01 AM

What year do you guys think flying cars will be a reality? Not necessarily when they'll go mainstream, but the earliest they could be a paid luxury like cars originally were.

I'm going to have to say 25 years.

I don't think anyone here will live to see the day when the average American has a flying car. Hopefully I am wrong though.

Translation 10-10-2005 07:11 AM

in the test flight photos, try hard to pretend you don't see the crane in the background and the cable holding the car in the air.

KRL 10-10-2005 07:16 AM

The ideal system would be one where an air car could just use a computer controlled anti-gravity energy field system.

In concept its really not very complex. All you need to do is find a charged particle mechanism to exert its own gravitational field to counteract the gravity field of the earth around the car and you'd be airborne instantly with minimal thrust which could be ion based like they use on the space probes.

You can read the theory behind this on this link:

Why are you laughing? How do you think ET's fly around the Universe so easily?

Once you master gravitational propulsion and can wrap your vehicle with its own electromagnetic field you can literally do anything in terms of flight. You can make 90 degree turns at hyper space speeds and there's no g force effect on the interior cabin compartment.

Amazing how many people laugh at futuristic ideas.

100 years ago they said airplane flight wasn't possible either.

Idiot.

That's to keep it from slamming into the ground should it go out of control.

EscortBiz 10-10-2005 07:37 AM

flying cars? omg what will these stupid payoff road construction companies do

EscortBiz 10-10-2005 07:40 AM

u can buy shares in this company for 1.05

KRL 10-10-2005 07:42 AM

You guys want to see totally cool high tech vehicles?

Check out all these flying devices DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) has developed for the CIA and DoD.

375MPH and 20MPG sweeeeet

Dalai lama 10-10-2005 08:04 AM

I want one of these.
