I gotta vent
 

as some of you know I help with foster kids who are mentally challenged.
We have 12 of them ( my parents ) and I am there daily helping them
It either being taking them to the doctors ( almost every day atleast two kids have to go )

getting them home from school or getting em there

Making dinner
Changing cloths
Shit like that
Playing with them

so our fucked up goverment thinks they know what goes on in these types of houses

A new law has been passed that can not be over turned for 2 years

In a house with rehab kids ( mentally challenged ) there is only ONE person in the house that can do the following
take kids to school
get the kids dressed
get the kids meds
take them to the doctors
talk to doctors
MAKE FOOD FOR THEM

Okay MOST houses this would work out fine as they only have 2-3 kids

BUT we have a GROUP home of kids that NO OTHER house will take.

My parents have employeed 3 staff members who live in the house 24-7
now those people are going to be out of a job unless we can find some loop hole so they can still help

How the FUCK do they think ONE person can do all that for these kids?

It is seriously fucked up and we cant even do anything about it for two years when legislation meets again

How are they going to monitor what you do in your house?

they cant but they have employeed a bunch of new CPS workers ( cps is child protection service if ya guys dont have it where you live )

and they can show up at ANY TIME

but the hardest thing to deal with is going to be the doctors

Tuesday we have 5 doctors to go to

All around the same time
how do they suggest we take all 5 of those with ONLY ONE PERSON who can talk to the doctor?

Is your house classified as a group home with the proper authorities? There are group homes all over the place. I doubt a law would pass without taking them into consideration.

Don't freak out, start making calls to the right people.

yes it is listed as a group home.
Was at the texas foster parents conference this morning and they said " all homes " so we will have to see

Alot of new bull shit going around it is impossible to do anything now

If you get a new kid in your house that is theraputic and not a rehab child you can not take them to a doctor for one year a case worker has to as they are the only ones who can say yes to meds for theraputic kids

we only have one of those and only meds she takes is a transderum patch ( drool patch LOLOL ) and asthma stuff

That sucks - good old government.

Perhaps a lawyer could help out. I dont know shit about the laws regarding foster childern but what if you set up a non-profit corporation or something along those lines so technically it becomes a business and not a "home".

Yeah wow, sorry to hear you have to deal with red-tape baloney like that when you're doing a public service from the goodness of your heart.
You should be able to get some sort of variance, or waiver or whatever it would be called. Clearly you have more than 1 or 2 kids, and it's unreasonable to ask ONE person to do all those things for 12 kids.

What's the reason, just curious.
