Strongbox, Proxypass, Sparta, Pennywize, What else is there? please help.
 

We cannot use sparta because it only works in conjunction with nats. proxypass is all bugged up on our new xsan mac x.4 server. pennywize did not work at all when we used it. Strongbox has yet to return my messege that I left them to try out their software.

What are other security software options?

how about custom solutions?

Doesn't isprime had a solution? We use a custom one, we can even see the location of the ppl logging in, how long etc. But I do know isprime also had something for it's customer..Won't hurt to ask Denis or Henry

Yes they have isprimecop, but even that was not working for us.

any reason why you are using a mac server over a linux or windows?

Go with Strongbox for sure if you are not running Nats. We used Strongbox for 2 years and it kicked ass. Plus Ray is good people. We only stopped using it because we are running Nats and using Sparta along with Nats offers us more features.

Password Sentry is pretty good.

We were the first proggy to use strongbox and it works like a charm.

Not to bash Mac, but on a pay server a box that will be slammed with every script kiddie and wanna be hacker wouldn't it be better to go with a proven system like Free BSD and Proxypass or Stongbox?

I can understand using the Mac on design, video and personal use, but to use that to support your bread and butter, your paying customers does not seem like a wise choice?

how does sparta compare to stongbox?

You can run SPARTA without NATS:

"When combined with NATS, SPARTA allows you access to detailed member information inside your member's areas and additional fraud detection via NATS. SPARTA will run both in conjunction with NATS and as a stand alone application."

My clients have highly recommended Strongbox to ME, so I've sent a bunch of others to Ray. Unfortunately, he has been tougher to get in touch with lately.

I've also heard Proxypass is good, but don't have any experience with it.
