Hentai content ... I'm confused
 

I've talked to 3 different people in the last few days about hentai content... people from big aff programs with hentai sites and whenever I ask about content I am pretty much told to use whatever I see around...

is that really how it is... so many people telling me that hentai is pretty much like celeb...

I'd love to hear some comments

Some stuff is rights free, but most stuff is licensed. Some programs will tell you this because they do not have the proper licenses. :warning

Yup, from what I've read as well, lots of people are just ripping off hentai content off each other, much like the celeb market. Very hard to find legit content out there.

Hentai is not like celebs. It just cost WAY MORE to get a hentai movie licensed than porn. There are many companies that have licensed hentai movies. If you somehow use it on you're site and they find out, then they immediately send DMCA's and shit.

Most hentai is Japanese, and most high quality hentai is never licensed for use outside of Japan. So, high quality hentai is in short supply outside of Japan, while Japanese companies producing it don't often actively fight non-Japanese copyright infringement. Those factors combined are the perfect environment for massive illegal use of copyrighted materials, without much happening in response.

Still, using unlicensed hentai IS illegal, and you shouldn't do it. If programs give you the sort of advice you posted in this thread, please, do expose them on the boards, because they are both hurting the industry and putting webmasters at risk.

You can go head and make a hentai site. But it will ruin your reputation knowing that you are using stolen conent.
