Which Airline?

I am going to The Netherlands in January, looking at flights right now, anyone know if any of the airlines are better? Cont. is the cheapest and KLM is the most expensive, any reason for this? one airline have better seats then the other or something?

Continental Airlines
Delta Air Lines
US Airways
Northwest Airlines
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

Juilan 10-09-2005 08:05 AM

I'm sure you'll see no difference in coach. But KLM/Northwest first class is the best of the group IMHO.

Raven 10-09-2005 08:06 AM

Northwest and KLM are partners, so you may book with KLM, but you may be flying a NW plane...they are airbus planes 330 something...the one I was on was like a cattle car as far as seating...two on the side, four across and two seats on the other side....the little televisions were nice..and I slept most of the way. The service was pretty good and they kept feeding us the entire time.

I have only flown the other airlines in the US (Continental Airlines
Delta Air Lines
US Airways).

Venus Airline?

Don't you have a plane Venus? Try Lufthansa

BabeHunter 10-09-2005 09:05 AM

Continental biz class kicks ass

flew with them TelAviv - Newark 1 of my best flights.

Adult Cash Provider Carl 10-09-2005 09:11 AM

I would go with klm i travel most of the time with them as their planes are very luxury and the food is great. You have much space. But they are everything but cheap.

Klm would be my choice. very nice and save airline

faxxaff 10-09-2005 09:28 AM

I would recommend Thai Airways (TG) from LA with a stopover in Bangkok. Best food, great service and a few days in Bangkok will make your very happy: geat shopping and massage. You can credit the Miles to United's Mileage Plus frequent flyer program as both are star alliance carriers.

kmanrox 10-09-2005 09:29 AM

thai airways biz and economy suck ass... their 1st class is bearable.

imageman 10-09-2005 09:48 AM

Virgin !!!!!!

Virgin Airlines are #1 for business travel . The first class lounge is amazing with massage, cooked breakfast, manicure and haircut, showers and all the drinks you want. Then comes British Airways as a good runner up. :2 cents:

SAM SIYC 10-09-2005 12:09 PM

I like continental best!
then KLM
don't go with the rest....they have financial problems...service/maintenance goes down usually when money problems occurs.

KLM and Martin Air are both Dutch airlines. I use Martin Air all the time. Direct flight out of Orlando.

I think I am taking british airways, but at $9000 for business class, ya I think coach will have to do.

KLM is good for the Dutch (French) economy...

venus 10-09-2005 12:51 PM

actually british airways offers an economy plus seating, which they say about it
"A separate cabin at the front of economy, with fewer seats provides a more spacious and relaxing environment...at least 20% more personal space than economy (World Traveller).
A wider seat with additional legroom and recline ensures you have a more comfortable flight. Your seat also incorporates adjustable features such as legrest, footrest, headrest and four-way lumbar support."

its only 1000$ more so for the comfort I think thats the way to go.

NinjaSteve 10-09-2005 01:42 PM

I don't care for NWA but they sucked me in since a big hub is in Minneapolis and I've flown so much that I get free 1st class upgrades every time I fly.

Standard seating sucks though, bad leg room. Uncomfortable seats.

pornguy 10-09-2005 01:44 PM

Always use Delta.

Their biz class is good (There are better, but not on that list). The only problem I have with their Tel Aviv Newark line is that it's always overbooked and it's really hard to get biz class seats.

poorwebmaster 10-09-2005 02:20 PM

Rec:

Delta - very good US carrier out of atlanta (kick ass airport)

Europena carriers: British Airways - They always have a deal

Or you may want to go with Air France - A bit pricey though

If you are desparate, fly "GFY - Airlines"! - If you are lucky Juciy or Headless will be flying, so you'll never get past the gate!

BRISK 10-09-2005 02:38 PM

Last time I was at Schiphol airport, I was waiting at a gate and looking out the window at a KLM plane that was really really dirty. I was surprised they allowed one of their planes to get so dirty without washing it. Made me wonder what else they're slacking on, hopefully not maintenance. Anyways, I was thinking, if they're going to be a more high-end airline, and they're going to charge more than all the budget airlines out there, the least they could do is look the part. It might seem like a small thing, but I think a dirty plane says alot about an airline, especially when you're not exactly a budget airline. So I lost a bit of respect for KLM after that. :(

Yeah Thai Airways first class rocks. :thumbsup

Chio 10-09-2005 02:50 PM

I've always flown KLM to The Netherlands. I would go with KLM.

EDIT: Just remembered one time was with Singapore Airlines which was also very good.

ThumbLord 10-09-2005 02:55 PM

I would go with KLM, the food is great and you have enough room.
But they are everything but cheap.
Singapore Airlines is the best though IMHO.
