[BREAKING NEWS] OMG. This can't be real! We learned something new about terrorists.

Real terrorists do not give warnings.

Some people get it, some don't.

pornguy 10-08-2005 01:51 PM

Some people never will.

alexg 10-08-2005 02:08 PM

what you talking about willis?

Doctor Dre 10-08-2005 02:24 PM

Obviously ... well actually thoses warnings are just to remind everybody they are there...

Libertine 10-08-2005 02:26 PM

A combination of random warnings and unannounced attacks is a great way to strike fear into the hearts of people and do much more damage than violence alone could do.

Dalai lama 10-08-2005 02:26 PM

Good job sherlock.

very true

StickyGreen 10-08-2005 03:16 PM

it's a very sound argument, but you can't say that there has never been a terrorist who actually did give warnings...

Those who give warnings are pussies with a morality. It's not the case with extremists.

Paul Waters 10-08-2005 03:57 PM

Are there people that really believe that there was a threat to New York?

There are no controls in place to validate what the White House says.

Remember, Dubya believes that he is on a mission from god. He claims god has spoken to him. Told him to invade Iraq.

With a mission as important as that, you can be sure that he will play very creatively with the truth to ensure that nothing gets in the way of him fullfilling his mission from god.

20 million voters = Right Christian voters. Yes, that's right. 20 million voters are currently holding the balance and their balls.

Bush needs to remind them he's on a mission from "God".

I doubt any of the ignorant leftist and terrorist sympathizers residing in Canada will ever "get it" , until they are hit themselves...

We were hit.

Early 70's.

FLQ crisis. Terrorists fighting for an independent Quebec. Prime Minister Trudeau implemented the War Measures Act.

Hundreads of people were thrown in jail without being charged. A British diplomat by the name of James Cross was kidnapped and eventually murdered.

But Canadians know that Americans know nothing of our history.

Ask a random 100 ppl in Toronto and maybe 3 will remember it. I had no clue about somethign that happend in Toronto in the 70s because I wasn't around, and Im sorry that I don't know history because Im busy enough concentrating on the future.

Sure, let's just forget about the past. And especially Nazi Germany and the 6 millions jews who died. Or those 800 000 people exterminated in Rwanda..I mean, we are too busy thinking about the future..

Seriously, this had to be the most ridiculous statement ever. And I mean ever.. Not even George Bush could come up with such a lame ass statement.

The FLQ crisis incidents did not happen in Toronto. The bombings and kidnappings occured in Quebec city.

No need for you to quality the "no clue" admission. It is pretty obvious that you have "no clue" period.

Glad you took the joke well, Paul.

chshkt 10-08-2005 05:36 PM

probably Bush is mind-controlled cloning and he thinks god speaks to him, but it's just some operator giving instructions lol
i can't describe his outrageous stupidity any other way

Sarah_Jayne 10-08-2005 05:59 PM

The IRA gave warnings (usually).

mardigras 10-08-2005 06:13 PM

The warnings are need to preoccupy the media and public away from the current "technical difficulties" in D.C. :upsidedow

Small correction :

Cross was kidnapped and released later on when the Felquistes left for Cuba.

Pierre Laporte, minister of labor I think, was kidnapped and killed in weird circumstances.

I was a teen at the time....

rickholio 10-08-2005 11:08 PM

I was too young to be aware of what was going on when René Lévesque and the FLQ were doing thier thing... but I learned about it in school. It was a big deal.

We've had other terrorism too... there was a guy running around sabotaging oil and gas derricks in Alberta a couple decades ago. Also, Air India flight 182 (successful) and the bags headed for another flight, Air India flight 301 (unsuccessful, but successful in wiping out a couple baggage handlers in japan where the bags had been offloaded for transport to 301).

So yeah, we've had to deal with terrorists.

BoNgHiTtA 10-08-2005 11:12 PM

Actually didn't al quaida give warnings about 911. So I think they do give warnings..

René Lévesque has never been involved with the FLQ. At that time, he was leader of the Parti Québécois, the political party.

Yes, yes, I know they were independant entities. I should have been more clear.

I should point out though that the FLQ manifesto quoted Lévesque, so there was obviously some sort of connection there... even if it was only inspiration. The realist in me says Rene probably had some contact with FLQ types, even if he later disavowed them and said that it was a good thing that the army was in town (L'armee occupe Quebec. C'est desagreable mais sans doute necessaire aux moments du crise.). Probably looking to his own political future, such as it was... the PQ at that point had around 30k people and sinking. Somewhere around the same amount that the Communist party did. :winkwink:

Either way, it was a messed up situation. I wonder if, say, Stanfield would have had the balls to handle the problem if he was in power.

So what? Some crazy bastard takes out a couple thousand Americans... so you wage war on a country that had nothing to do with it and kill 100,000+ civillians?

Give me a break.

I will have to agree with you on this one...thinking that way we wouldn't even need courts and jails...shit not even cops... :2 cents:
