I have no problem with mods closing threads "how to kill someone". I dont have problems with those threads either, but some people might...

I think the Mods stepping in is a good thing ... it's better the it being the wild west like it was .. but there is no consistency ... Trey can post that someones mother is a whore and that someone should get aids and die ..and that thread stays open .. makes no sense .. that thread has no biz value either but stays open ... just seems weird

I actually remember that thread Mike (months ago) and if I'm not mistaken we closed that one too...

FYI, until we brought TexasDreams on board we didn't have a full-time board mod. So somtimes we'd catch stuff or someone would email/ICQ us and sometimes we wouldn't and it would slip through the cracks. We're working on making it a lot more consistent lately.

that's cool ... i remember lots of threads from people posting "where the fuck are the mods" ... I'm Glad that there are some now and I'm sure most others are also ... i just worry about it getting to restricted and losing it's edge ... I'm sure you guys know what i mean .. either way Texasdreams and yourself and Redd have been going a great job .. I'm sure with the speed this board moves it's not easy ..

It was a hypothetical question. I majored in psycology...curious of what people think. We are not free to bullshit about stuff we would talk about around a footbal game or a camp fire?

The thought was, that most people are desensitized by distance and would select methods that do not require them to be there to see it. which is what I would have gotten at if it would have been able to develop. It's a sign of the times. Email and TXT msg's have made us more violent from a distance and less violence in person...just an experiment in human nature. too bad.

Oh well...not my board, so who am I to say? I don't blame GFY or anything, it's Lawyers, and prosecuters that put the pressure on.

You can't trust a goverment because any goverment's first agenda is to remain in power. In order to do that, they must control the people it claims to represent.

And by definition you can NOT have freedom and control exist at the same time.

Are there actually people on this board that value their freedom of speech so little that they would have discussions closed about hypothetical situations because it may offend someone? Am I hearing this correctly?

I've seen people wish that others get aids and die or that they deserve a bullet in the head on this board...And I don't think they should be shut down!
