What anti-virus software do you use?
Hey peoples, thought I would throw this out there.
My anti-virus software subscription is about to run out (Norton Antivirus) was wondering if I should renew it again or if there is something better out there to run on my home system. I tried Mcafee & PC-cillin long time ago but Mcafee just doesn't run to smoothly on my system for some reason and PC-cillin just let to many virus' through. Maybe they have impoved since it was 3-4 years ago since I tried them. I just need the regular anti virus stuff check emails, web pages, files on my system sorta thing. So whats everyone else using? |

oh these days, with everybody and thier mother sending virus in emails or something on a webpage that my current anti-virus software warns me about.. I can't see going without it. Not to mention those people out there that don't like porn so they think sending a virus to the bad porn guys is going to get them into heaven faster or something lol Computers are worse then sex...you don't have sex without protection of some sort...well you can't open email or surf without protection as well. |
I don't need one :)

I have used Nortons, AVG and many many others but Avast treats me and my machines the best! :thumbsup
nod32 the best!
Norton..been using it for years without any problems
Trend Micro
:smokin |
The time I used Norton, it detected the virus but didn't do anything about it. They didn't let me delete the virus itself. Now I use NOD32. My laptop has been clean ever since and nothing bad has happened.

Use Mcafee if you are serious about viruses. Reason being I had stuff made, etc that for some reason was only detected on Mcafee when tested against other 10+ other AVs that didn't detect anything. DAMN YOU MCAFEE. But prolly use AVG if you are worried about resources.
NOD 32 is the best!
Well giving AVG a shot and see how it goes. I preferred the low system resource drain if possible and Mcafee seems to drain a bit on the system.. but will see.. if AVG fails me I probably won't be able to tell anyone about it until I reload my system :1orglaugh

.
the best - nod32 . |
heck.. i had AVG but now i changed it to Norton, i think it was a bad decision i made :(
I use norton
Norton is pure crap. Panda or AVG are the only ones I would use.
Been using avg for years and still using it. :)
If you know what you are doing, you don't need one.
www.antivirus.com free online virus scan , no software needed ... use it.
On this pc, I'm using Mcafee
all i have to say about nortons is......
99% of people that i get asked to help them with their computers because it has a virus HAS NORTONS, not only do they usually have nortons , and it usually doesn't find a damn thing , but they tie up their computers with this useless hog.. This might at least be "ok" if it was impossible virii or strange new virii , but were talking about the most common infections known to man , the easiest virii to detect , and nortons simply gives everything a clean bill. Put it this way , of the hundreds of virus infected computers i have seen , the vast majority had nortons , and it couldn't detect or couldn't remove ANY of them. Not one.. Of those hundreds of computers , every single one of them was detected using www.antivirus.com free online scan.. didn't cost a penny. As far as virus removal goes .. i haven't seen anything that works most of the time yet. www.antivirus.com will remove simple ones , but it wont remove hard ones, haven't found anything that would. ( other than manual removal ) |
