i agree. i love how they troll the free classified sites and post fake ads too. they also harvest emails from community forums. i don't have time to sit and type emails to the sponsor, but let me see if i can find some of the affiliate numbers real quick. i've gotten spam from at least 5 or 6 different aac affils that i can prove where they got my email because i use a different free email account for each classifed to track them.

oh and before it is posted. I will reiterate what I mentioned in my previous post in regards to mailing someone.

I did not and will not mail the email addy in question to AAC. simply because I have had it for over 2 years and I have never received one piece of spam to this addy EVER until this very crafty AAC affiliate. I don't even run a spam filter of any type on it there has been no need.

Shit I don't even care most times If I get spam to my other email addys. I just delete and move on. Those addresses are out there and everywhere so I kinda expect it.

But I would expect them to take care of this situation, these are the types of things that can cause major problems for sponsors.

We have been investigating this affiliate for some time. He has caused no end of problems for us. His account was banned for a few days now. We've now terminated the account as well. We apologize for the headaches that this has caused you.

I have to warn you that his mail may not stop right away,we have no control over that, but rest assured he is not making money by sending it so he will stop.

I would like to know how you think this guy got your email address in the first place, just to help us investigate him further, I understand why you wouldn't want to post your email address and I'm not asking for that. Again sorry for the inconvenience, we have done everything we can to prevent this guy from sending to you and other people.

I just had a similar problem, and just heard back from AAC.

Curious - how many other webmasters recieved spam from an AAC affiliate? Is it possible this affiliate had access to more than my email address? Where's my tinfoil hat...

This affiliate has had no access to our information. He got your information from somewhere else. He will not be sending spam to you anymore.

as far as how the email addy was obtained I have no clue. it has never been used for business, and never posted on a public forum. I wish I could find that out myself.

Maybe he is generating them via some dictionary type program. I'm not much of a mail guy tbh

Yo Quimby no money is being made, his account is terminated when someone tries to join AAC from his link it comes up with a statement that the account as been shut down for spamming. No purchase or registration can be made with his id in it. So no one is making money off his traffic.

I'd tend to belive you because I have no reason not to. And thats a pretty strong statement imo because it's easy enough to check.

There is a lot of dirty marketing going on these days.

CAN-SPAM seems to mean nothing to some.
