Prohosters is back up, what do you have to say about that?

Just thought I should start a thread about the site being back up. Most people bitch about the hosts going down but are somewhat less vocal when their sites are online. Still no ftp access.

I've been with Prohosters for about 17 months now and this was the worst outage I've experienced - no other outages came close to lasting this long. I'm not saying Prohosters is perfect, or even among the best, but I have yet to see another host seriously offer what Prohosters offers its virtual account customers. I may move a domain or two but I intend to stay with them.

what do i have to say?

They offer the best package for the best price no doubt, but if they can't keep our sites up what good are they?

I am still waiting to hear why I should stay with them, FROM THEM, otherwise, I like many other people am going to switch. This last fiasco cost alot of people alot of $$$ and I don't feel they've been totally upfront with what happened.

I've been very forgiving and have stuck with them through all this shit, but how many times does this have to happen before one realizes its time to take his business elsewhere?

Just a question.

Nedder and thewatsonian, Drop me an email if you are looking for a good hosting company. I know you webmasters put a lot of work into what you do and it is never good to gown down for days. We would keep you up.

We have virtual hosting accounts for $50/Month with 100 GB Transfer, Unlimited Disk Space, and Unlimited Domains. Overages are billed at $.50/Gig Transferred.

We have 2 providers and Mirrored Drives in all our machines, so you wont have the same problem again.

If your such a good quality standup host..why change the name of your company?

As long as my data isn't gone I will stay with them for a while. However, I think I might move a couple domains just so I don't have as much as a heart attack if it happens again.

However, it would be nice to hear from them rather than having to live on rumours.

What is there to say?

They're a hosting company that had a 4 day outage. They're paid to keep sites up and running. 100 IP's and 500 MB of space is great, but who cares if the sites can't be reached?

lawpal 03-03-2002 08:35 PM

They may be up, but with no access to hosted files, no FTP, no ability to check data integrity, no info on the root cause of these problems, no info about how much data they have identified as unrecoverable. Last I know everything is being moved off water into three separate servers. They are responding, but the situation is still screwed up.

:throwup

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We recovered the drive on Sunday, because of the long donwtime we have chosed to use the bad drive while copying the content to new drive, because copying to the new drive before putting it online it would have taken another two days of downtime or maybe more. we're transffering users to the new array as fast as we can. If you have an emergency, like your domains are unreachble or you have lost vital info for your sites and you want to upload as fast as possible you should come into our live support channel #ProHosters on irc.prohosters.com (or use the application from http://prohosters.com/support.php) and let us aware of that and we will proccess your request imediately.
Thank you
