It's good bandwidth if you are starting out or are running a small site. Other than that I wouldn't rely on it.

It's only temporary, Cogent days are numbered, move your sites now or you can wonder every minute of everyday if (and yes it's inevitable) your sites will be there the next minute.

site size doesnt matter, use cogent if you're not worried about the reliability of your site.

:1orglaugh People have been saying this for 5+ years.

In the mean time, Cogent has effectively reduced the market rates for bandwidth across the board by about 75%.

If anything, you owe Cogent a big ass thank you, if not your support for their company, pricing, and data-only business model.

Cogent hosts A LOT of popular end point websites.

Nobody is going to fight with Cogent on peering for too long because THEY will suffer greatly from it as well.

ServerGenius 10-06-2005 03:56 PM

they haven't been down......level3 stopped public peering and routing cogent's
traffic over their network.....which they still don't

ServerGenius 10-06-2005 03:57 PM

see?

Never mind. L3 and congent is still at it.

"Time Warner has rerouted to get to Cogent, however the problem at hand still exists."

I am on TW.
