One script that is supposed to be great is:

http://www.adjuggler.com/

However, if I remember correctly, the guy who owns the company talked shit on the adult industry a while back. He was involved in some political scandal of some sort. He used to run ads on adult sites, but then he gave a bunch of money to a politician and some newspaper wrote about it and all hell broke loose so he said negative shit about adult and online porn.

Like the Hitbox people, he talked shit on adult when it suited him, which sort of stinks, But, I heard his product kicks ass. Your call.

(edited for spelling)

http://www.cgi-recources.com/

you will find it...

also steal someones javascript, it is not copyrighted, it is basic, rudimentary js, that is low on server resources, but may add a few k to your page side.... so adjust accordingly

Try webadverts, it's awesome......... it tracks EVERYTHING.

http://awsd.com/scripts/webadverts/index.shtml

Also another one I use that is very easy to setup but has less options is:

http://www.geocities.com/purelybymagic/script/

You can get a copy of that one there.

Hope this helps you. These are the two I use and if I can set them up anyone can. lol

You probably know this already, but I might as well mention it. If you have a lot of traffic, which it sounds like you might, I would advise you to stay away from PERL applications. Every PERL banner script we tried burned our servers to the ground. We even tried, and tossed out, one C script and several PHP/MySQL ones before finding another solution.

That was over a year ago, and I know there are some new PHP banner scripts out there, so you may have better luck. When we were looking, though, it seemed nearly impossible to find a feature rich, and efficient, script for serving millions of banners a day.

It depends what you want. I use a very simple php script. But I dont track anything except outgoing clicks, just numbers. I control the random links from a text file.

I looked at some others and they looked way too complicated and provided way more info than I needed.

Find a decent php programmer and just tell what you want. I think mine cost me like $50.00 :)

ok. Thanks guys :)

I will try them out tonight :)

Mr. Fiction: Perl can supoport a lot of traffic...it just have to be well written.

Thanks,
Steve

Maybe if you use Mod_Perl and a lot of hardware it could work for you, but I was never able to find a straight PERL script that could handle multiple campaigns, regions, detailed reporting, etc, and not burn down its own dedication server.

You may very well be right, but my experience has not been good with PERL and big traffic (think of UBB). PHP has been a lot better for us, but because it is/was relatively new, finding a fully realized PHP application is/was not as easy as it is with older languages.

Good luck! :)

phpAds has lots of features, I don't know how it will handle 1 mill hits though. But it works great for me. http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpadsnew/

I just need the script to rotate banners randomly...I dont need it to count hit and stuff like that...

so it wont use a lot of hardware :)

i dont think it'll be a good idea to run a perl cgi script that does that when u gonna have a bunch of request a day.

gonna eat the cpu time

Perl is great! My custom banner software handles 5 millions views a day. It's working together with MySQL. Only 1 little piece of the software is written in C++ to handle the process of serving the banners.
