OK, Neil Diamond fans...fess up.

Lady Lia and I are Neil Diamond fans...I know there are a lot of you out there who wouldn't admit it...so here's the thread for you to fess up. He probably ranks right under (or even equal to) 50cent/Game/Eminem and Metallica for me...

MikeSmoke 10-05-2005 07:24 PM

:thumbsup
saw him last week in LA....fantastic show (except for the Jonathan Livingston Seagull set lol)

Mako 10-05-2005 07:24 PM

I like him. Whoever likes him and is too scared to say it is a ugly imature person who needs to grow up. I like all music from classical to country to hip hop to soft rock to classic rock to heavy metal. No one should ever be ashamed of being a well rounded person. :Graucho

Seen him twice. One show was just a month back. Awesome show. I can't understand how his band still can rock the same songs they've been playing forever.

Walrus 10-06-2005 12:31 AM

Love Neil Diamond. Great to see him peforming "I'm A Believer" on his current tour. I never heard him play that before. He wrote it for The Monkees, not sure if he ever recorded it himself.

Lia19 10-06-2005 01:47 AM

Neil Diamond Live Is A Guaranteed Panty Dropper. I Will Be There Tomorrow When He Comes To Az. No, I Wont Be Dropping Any Panties. Maybe Picking Up A Few......

=^..^= 10-06-2005 05:14 AM

im a neil dimaond fan
i'll listen to anything as long as it isnt top 40 bublegum britney spears crap.
opera, crooners, old school C&W, i'd even listen to a polka if it had a good beat up.

bopha 10-06-2005 05:38 AM

Early Neil, Totally! We've seen him a few times, always sold out and always exceptional.

I don't care for his show tunes stuff or the later stuff that doesn't even compare to 'I am, I said" or "Stones". I'm not sure why a guy who could write "I'm a Believer" can't keep them coming.. but..

I guess with the throw away music that's popular now and the fact that people don't want Albums the way we used to experience albums, great songwriters have less relevence now.

Theres' no shame in loving Neil, his music was the soundtrack to many lives.

Didn't take offense...I think for most people pear pressure is less of a factor as they get older so they try new stuff...

Mitch Cumstein 10-06-2005 05:34 PM

Cracklin' Rosie is the BEST!

Then again I love all songs about inflatable love dolls!

Oh, I love my rosie child
You got the way to make me happy
You and me, we go in style
Cracklin rose, you?re a store bought woman
You make me sing like a guitar hummin?
So hang on to me, girl
Our song keeps runnin? on

Play it now
Play it now, my baby

Cracklin? rosie, make me a smile
Girl if it lasts for an hour, that?s al right
We got all night
To set the world right

but neil diamond ...ah he doesnt suck (he writes alot of his own stuff and can sing) and he does have some cool tunes but not someone i would regularly listen to. kinda campy but that can be fun at times.

now leonard cohen is way cooler than neil ... :1orglaugh

J$tyle$ 10-07-2005 12:07 AM

Years ago here in LA - Neil Diamond had a concert and because of the whole scalping thing each person could only purchase 8 tickets ... I don't know if iot's still the same today - but anyway ... we had 12 people buy 8 tickets each fo around $30 a pop and sold 60+ for $100 each and went to go see him rock out 2 of the 3 nights he was in town with the left over tickets

LOL

:)

No shame in Neil's game!!!!!

:winkwink:

Neil Diamond KICKS ASS. I saw him on his last tour, 12th row from the stage. Bought a shirt and still wear it. Even while Death Metal is playing on my stereo. :thumbsup
