Making an adult surfer forum

Hey guys!

I have some unused domains lying around so I'm thinking of making an adult surfer forum. Got any advices? On what to focus, how to advertise it and so on....

Lycanthrope 10-05-2005 12:17 PM

Great! Another place where people can download gigs and gigs of members area content!

penzo 10-05-2005 12:19 PM

nope, no downloads and links...I'm thinking more like discussions and dating sort of forum...

if you give them free downloads, all of us loose

Lycanthrope 10-05-2005 12:22 PM

Alright, my apologies for jumping the gun and assuming the worst.

I'd say cams and dating sponsors :2 cents:

hehe, np mate :)

whats the best idea of promoting it? heavy seo and hard links?

seeric 10-05-2005 12:25 PM

43,000 adult webmasters just registered domains for adult surfer forums.

penzo 10-05-2005 12:26 PM

when you put it that way...

I hate to break it to you, but GFY is a surfer forum.

And please flame if you need to, but don't some of the larger programs, "leak" pics to the surfers anyway along with multiple people distributing user area pics in the form of p2p file sharing. Pages like www.ultrapasswords.com have been in existance since I was to young to get access to porn and I never read much into their "hacked" passwords those had to be links given out. I actually started in porn trading pics through ICQ back in high school.

Wouldn't water marking your pics and videos be the same as giving "press packets" or sponsored pics to TGP owners? The same as coporations and companies sending out free samples to consumers. GMC's test drive it before you buy it?

How exactly with the above in mind do we all lose with him having a surfer forum. Do you not believe in sponsored links or banner adds? Do you not believe in word of mouth or viral advertising? I post this in all senserity since I do not deal with content at all yet and would like to learn from people with more experience.

Don't waste your time... it will be a failure.

There's a huge difference between giving out a "press pack" with a few photos like a TGP gallery & the stuff they have on surfer forums. I've seen the entire membership section of solo girl sites all in one thread in easy zip files. This is not helping those sites get signups.

'Course, if there weren't so many shitty solo girl sites with only 50 photo sets & a handful of videos, maybe surfers wouldn't feel so ripped off when they join.

:2 cents:

choose small niche IMO

then drop your link at every single (same niche realted) Yahoo Group, MSN group etc
then start posting to other forums and link dumps

good luck

I had one and deleted it.

Once it become popular other webmasters found it started spamming their links and people start posting things they shouldnt. Fantasies getting wilder and wilder and I got tired of deleting threads, editing urls out, etc.

It was a headache, I got rid of it.

Would think this would happen to any that was popular.

Maybe if you paid a bout 5 moderators you could get through it.
