I got all 4 out on the same day in November of 2000. Two of them were impacted. They gave me 30 percocets AND a refill.

After Shock Media 10-05-2005 10:06 AM

All four removed. Top two just needed to come out no space. Bottom two were coming in at wrong angle, like towards my other teeth. It had cracked the hell out of another tooth due to the pressure it was applying.
All came out same day. Although I was a wuse, ok not a wuse just someone who did not want pain with good insurance so I had them put me under to remove them. :upsidedow

BV 10-05-2005 10:07 AM

I was lucky enough to be born without them. :-)

Jensen 10-05-2005 10:09 AM

no problems here either.. not pain free ,but pain killers will do the trick afterwards..

Vitasoy 10-05-2005 10:28 AM

I still have my in... :helpme

KRL 10-05-2005 10:29 AM

Yeh, its about 24 hours of sheer pain and discomfort after you get them pulled.

I had all 4 done at one time in my early 20's.

PenisFace 10-05-2005 10:29 AM

My last one just came in recently. Argh, the whole side of my face was all puffed up like someone had punched me :(

cybermike 10-05-2005 10:40 AM

I dont like the idea of being put under.. My dentist said the bottom 2 are impacted the top 2 have been out for a while.. he said I should get them out when I have a chance..

Never had surgery before and I dont like the idea of it!

WiredGuy 10-05-2005 10:48 AM

I get all 4 of mine pulled on Friday, so please don't tell me any horror stories!!

BobG 10-05-2005 10:51 AM

got 5 wisdoms out (lucky me had a spare) out 2 years ago on New Years Eve and went out that night. It's not that bad especially if you've ever broken anything or had surgeries and stuff. Its nothing

Pete-KT 10-05-2005 10:52 AM

Good luck

EroticySteve 10-05-2005 11:11 AM

Must have been a beotch before modern densitry.

montythestrange 10-05-2005 11:17 AM

Eh, it's a bit painful, but you deal with it.

The drugs they give you are fun though. It's nice to be in doctor-prescribed lala land.

pornguy 10-05-2005 11:20 AM

Had all four done at the same time. When I removed the cotton, I spit out some blood, and that was it. Had mac and cheese that night, soft foods for a few days, has the stitches removed, and no pain at all. threw out the pain killers.

They are not supposed to prescribe you mushrooms when you get your wisdom teeth removed. :2 cents: :warning

Kard63 10-05-2005 11:38 AM

I had all 4 of mine yanked, then I went to bed, then I woke up and ate 3 cheeseburgers. Dont worry about it. But on day 3 or 4 I realized I had two drysockets. They hurt. So when they give you a long list rules and you ignore them and you spit out your scabs you know your in for some pain lol.

MadCat 10-05-2005 11:40 AM

why do u yank them ?

i still have all 4 :thumbsup

They were crowding my teeth and I could never permanantly stop using my retainer if I didn't.

hottoddy 10-05-2005 12:13 PM

Here's the general rule of thumb: Experiences vary widely.

Some pop right out, and others are sideways, deeply impacted or have roots wrapped around them. You cannot judge what your experience will be from others. It could be easy or it could be a mess. Read the disclosure carefully before signing. All kinds of nightmare could happen - nerve damage, busted jaw, dry sockets, fractured tooth pieces left behind, infection, etc.

I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth and the sockets oozed blood for days after the extraction. My lower jaw looked like Marlon Brando in the Godfather for about 2 weeks afterwards. Mine was a pain in the ass. However, I have many friends who said it was no big deal.

smack 10-05-2005 12:15 PM

aside from not being able to eat right for a month, my wisdom teeth were a walk in the park.

they came out easy as shit, and then i got to eat pills for like two weeks. :upsidedow

je_rome 10-05-2005 06:40 PM

I have not but I remember the dreadful pain I had when it slowly grew out of my gums some years ago. i can only imagine how it hurts to have it removed.

stevo 10-05-2005 06:55 PM

I had all 4 pulled out in May. It wasnt too bad, i stayed awake for the procedure. Pain only lasted a few days. My tongue was cut by the drill or something, so i was numb for months!

MattO 10-05-2005 06:57 PM

I have 2 due to get ripped out this Friday, plus an extraction for some bridge work.
Fuck.

stevo 10-05-2005 06:58 PM

Forgot to mention... cover your face/mouth/tongue/jaw/etc with ice after surgery - this will help fight against the swelling which causes most of the pain afterwords...

frankfortuna 10-05-2005 07:02 PM

I had all 4, which were impacted, removed during my early teens. They put me out during the procedure, and the pain afterwards was manageable. I didn't require pain medication.

Spunky 10-05-2005 07:05 PM

Had 2 pulled and didn't have any complications..just follow their list of things not to do and rince with warm salt water every few hours

aztecvision 10-05-2005 07:06 PM

Insist that they pull all 4 out at the same time, or you'll have to go thru the whole experience twice. You won't feel a thing until you sober up from all of the medication a few days later. By that time 95% of the pain will be gone.

Satisfaction 10-05-2005 07:18 PM

arrr i have to get all 4 out in december :(

infection is my major scare.. ive witnessed horror with my gf..

born4porn 10-05-2005 07:42 PM

I still have mine and I am not looking forward to the day!

poisson 10-05-2005 07:48 PM

All 4 remove, hurt like hell, had a bad experience with a bad doc.

I remember him his hand on my face and the other one pulling like crazy in all ways.

PixeLs 10-05-2005 08:42 PM

Mine has just started growing; I don't think I still need to pull this out.

CC 10-05-2005 08:46 PM

Easiest "surgery" in the world. I'd say that a root canal is about 100 times more painful. I'd call it minor discomfort--and even that only lasts for a few days.

...however, I did have gum complications as a result of the extractions that required periodontic surgery...now that was painful :(
