CCBill signup problems - anyone had this?

Ok, yesterday we had 0 signups, (first time in 8 years) and so guessed something was wrong.

This morning i get emails from potential members saying they cannot join because the password field on the signup form only allows 8 characters to be typed in, yet when you submit the form, it says error - requires a minimum of a 10 character password

So I try this myself and yes this is the problem

Have emailed CCBill about this, but would ask anyone else had this kind of problem, is it somthing I can set in the CCBill Admin?

No reply from CCB yet

i'd call them...

Check your FHG's tour links, I noticed when I click thru to the site and to the signup page - No Lock (SSL) shows up.

Regular link it does.

i'd like to chime in.. we haven't been in the game very long but we had our first 0 signup day on a [will remain nameless because i havent talked to them yet] ccbill sponsor we usually push 8-10/day with. same traffic levels/sources. other sponsors remained normal, or even above average.

longdongsilver 10-05-2005 05:14 AM

yeah same here,....they must have had some issues yesterday, and todays not too hot either.

normally our backup processing does not do much, but yesterday it did quite a few ...so i guess that indicates people were having problems with the ccbill page.

solonline 10-05-2005 05:18 AM

the answer = cascading billing
whenever we see a problem we switch processors , never loose a sale that way :thumbsup

Hinc 10-05-2005 05:39 AM

Experienced the same thing yesterday - allthough 2 signups did go through - but thats very very long way below average...today it looks normal again.

Seems CCBill had a few probs yesterday, all the pending account bugs, some check amount bug etc...from what i´ve seen reported on boards. But of course, much more serious when it directly affects signups.

Calvinguy 10-05-2005 05:44 AM

Today is awfull so far. Not sure if it's ccbills fault or not.

selena 10-05-2005 06:10 AM

I had a 0 sales day yesterday with ccbill. I dont' have that happen often.

YDG 10-05-2005 06:21 AM

OK, well at least it was not just me, they seem to have fixed it, as we have had new signups all morning, so it seems to be back to normal.

However, would have been nice to be informed as to why it happened. Emails have gone unanswered.

Violetta 10-05-2005 06:42 AM

I tried to sign up with a webmaster prog today, but never recived any email with the aff number!

Perhaps ccbill is drunk!

AmateurFlix 10-05-2005 07:47 AM

I did have one ccbill signup yesterday but normally I would expect a few more at least

A friend of mine that pushes over 500,000 hits to galleries per day mentioned that he had 0 ccbill signups also

andrej_NDC 10-05-2005 07:50 AM

yesterday was the worst day for the whole year for me and today didnt start much better, so something has to be wrong

Hinc 10-05-2005 08:00 AM

Today looks normal here - but its annoying they dont put an announcement when there´s bugs/probs.

Haven't you figured it out yet? THERE ARE NEVER ANY PROBLEMS WITH CCBILL. Everything is always normal and their servers are totally indestructable. In the event that a meteor would crash into their facility and appear to flatten the entire area and all power lines and all communication lines would be down, any variance in your sales ratios would ONLY be a result of normal sales fluctuations.

They have made this quite clear on many occasions. :winkwink:

NaughtyAlysha 10-05-2005 08:14 AM

I noticed a problem yesterday as well... we had plenty of sales, but there is a noticeable lapse from about 10 AM until 4 PM. I assume the problem was fixed after 4.

GoNe 10-05-2005 08:25 AM

Thats why I maybe just had one ccbill sale yesterday :Oh crap but rebills seemed to go through without any problems. :)

Be aware that there have been some major connectivity issues on the net:

http://scoreboard.keynote.com/scoreb...assword=public

if anybody wants us to look at their account, email the account details over to me, ill get you an answer, but before you do this I suggest that you explore your form hits report, (reports -> transactions -> form hits) to ensure that your clicks are getting to our signup form and that it was just not an issue with decreased traffic, I will get an answer back to you within a few hours.

These problems are most likely because a majority of the routes to CCBILL are over LEVEL3, and LEVEL3 has totally fucked up the internet today.

Basically half of the internet cant talk to the other half of the Internet because of their peering wars.

If you want to complain, I would call LEVEL3 and tell them to quit what their doing.

everyone I had talked with said the traffic levels and hits to sponsors were normal, it was just the ratios that were way off. That means everything was going normally for that traffic until it hit the ccbill processors.

latinasojourn 10-05-2005 10:19 AM

same here. ccbill form hits steady or above average.

successful signups 50% of average last few days.

maxxxxx 10-06-2005 03:24 PM

1:13,000 overall for all CCBill sites yesterday, today so far 1:8000, compared to my usual 1:1,800. But yes, I know, just a statistical thing...according to CCBill.

andrej_NDC 10-06-2005 03:40 PM

ccbill is back to normal for me since yesterday's noon

AmateurFlix 10-06-2005 03:49 PM

seems normal here again as well
