has anyone here had the news do a story on them?

If so did they identify themselves to you?
Heres my story :

I'm at home this morning this guy calls asking for my mother in law, I say she doesnt live here. He then say are you and says my full name I say yes. He says may I speak to he says my wifes real name. I ask at this point who is this , he asks for her again , again I ask who is this. He hangs up.
Now I check the called id and it says the local news station which I think is weird maybe vonage screwed up.
Later at my office,my wife picks the phone its the news station number, he asks for her .She answers ,he asks her if she was a minor when she met me, she says no and then he say we are doing a story on Anthony for disturbing ilegal porn , she goes to ask who is this and he hangs up.He never said who he was or that he was call from the local news station.
Has this ever happen to anyone, my lawyer says could be a stalker, could be a prank. I have a friend who works in news seeing if he can find anything out.
He said they would of introduced themselves on the phone.

They wouldn't have said they're doing a story on illegal porn if they actually were :)

Yes ... for mainstream stuff ... they identified themselves right away. Seems more of a prank than anything else...

here's my question. can someone set up their phone so that the caller id listed when they call is another number? and can they choose the number?

Wow, that is freaky.

It seems to me if he was doing a story that would protray you in a bad light, he would have introduced himself. Then try to get on your good side and when he had you live on camera then he would spew the bad stuff he thinks he knows and see how you would react.

I think it's a stalker...Mandy is hot. Maybe she has a local fan that found her??? :Oh crap

the whole thing that makes it weird is that the first time he called, he asked for my mom by her full name.
i don't even think my in laws know my moms full name lol

..and thank you!

It is possible to spoof caller id through the use of Asterisk (opensource PBX <phone system>) and the right carriers. Not dead-bone-easy for anyone to do, but definitely possible.
