i want to give away this car!!
 

i just got another car, i was going to get rid of the old one & i was going to just take parts off it & junk it, then i thought about all the people in new orleans who lost their cars. I want to give it to somebody who needs a car who was affected by katrina.

does anybody know how i can do this? i'm not anywhere new orleans either, i'm in connecticut. i see places like donate your car to charity, but they just crush the car for the scrap money which is like $50 or sell parts. But i thought it would be better to let a person or family have it to get around.

any ideas or thoughts on this?

I was affected by Hurricane Katrina. I'm paying like $0.70 more per gallon for fuel now.

Most scrap yards won't pay anything if they have to pick it up

it runs & drives. so i figured maybe if i could give it to someone who needed it. if i give it to one of those donate your car charities, they scrap it & get $50 or less for it. i think a family who needs a car to get to work or wherever, would certainly be better & it would benifit them personally more than the $50 split up by the charity after overhead maybe $35 or $40 gets put into the pot for the charitable needs... sell it. I wanted to sell it, but my landlord is being a prick. all month he's been bitching that i have 3 cars, now i have 4, so my station wagon's gotta go.

That's pretty cool of you. I'm sure there is a fmaily that lost their vhicle that needs one badly and can't afford a new one,.

I would try getting on uship.com and see if anyone going down there would be help ya or even check out I think its craigslist or something. Who knows maybe your local red cross could help you...

Fuck man, get your ass down there and find someone who needs a car. You'll feel fuckin great when you help a real person who you've met and talked to.
