Google Adsense now allows ADULT...

Google Adsense now allows ADULT... language.

Scan for the word FUCK and other choice profanities.

Wow looks like FASTCLICK allows it too. Finally I can put adsense on some of my adult sites!

Dalai lama 10-03-2005 09:03 AM

Where's the official announcement?

cambaby 10-03-2005 09:11 AM

Woohoo just did a couple tests on adult worded sites and normally community service ads would display but now real ads display. This certainly is new!

tgpshack 10-03-2005 09:12 AM

hmm can adult sites place google adsense bars on sites?

EroticySteve 10-03-2005 09:13 AM

Google is the world's largest porn site. They are hypocrites if they don't allow adsense out on any legal site.

Sure if we all do it they might change thier hypocritical policy! :thumbsup

mardigras 10-03-2005 09:30 AM

I just wish they'd quit blocking so many of my mainstream pages as having "objectionable content" . Too bad the preview tool doesn't flag the "objectionable" words because sometimes it's next to impossible to figure out what the script is flagging.

mardigras 10-03-2005 09:35 AM

I've not been able to work on many of my pages since Katrina, but I just checked one of my mainstream pages that would display PSAs on most pages and it's still the same. However on my index page there was an ad for sometthing called "I show you, you show me" which promised to deliver "action" over the web :eek7

People laugh, but this is true. You think you have a kick ass TGP? Go to google image search. THEY ARE THE WORLDS LARGEST TGP.

There's not one credible news source here that shows anyone anything. :2 cents:

I would challenge anyone to link us to one porn page that is credibly displaying google adwords. And if you do, I'll sign up for an adsense account in the next hour.
:1orglaugh

jonnax 10-03-2005 10:47 AM

Is this some blaa blaa bullshit thread or really true?
Link to official statement ?
Links to sample adult sites using adsense?

Damian_Maxcash 10-03-2005 10:56 AM

I havnt been awake long enough to work out if this is true or not. My sarcasm radar is still warming up.

Can I have some clarification please?

cool1g 10-03-2005 10:59 AM

I'll wait until I see their revised terms and conditions before jumping for joy.

Sites that haven't yet been caught breaking Google's TOS != a change in policy. :2 cents:

As WG says - if and when thet finally change the TOS....

Even LARGE and world famous like the huffington post? Surely Google KNOWS what profanity is posted on there.

bdld 10-03-2005 05:31 PM

no official announcement, anyone doing it is risking getting their account termed.

umm.. world famous? And why would a google adsense rep know what profanity is posted there? They passed the first look and that is all you are seeing. Turn them in if you want.

Pagerank 7
Alexa 3676
Google Results 1 - 10 of about 13,600 linking to http://www.huffingtonpost.com/

Yeah I would say they are pretty popular. Turn them in for what? Google knows damn well that they allow uncensored comments and still approved the site. What would I turn them in for? THIS IS ALLOWED OBVIOUSLY

cambaby 10-03-2005 05:40 PM

The point is Google ads used to show COMMUNITY SERVICE ads before on sites that contained certain keyword profanities, my point is that those keywords have somehow been lifted/changed/allowed. I can now put Google ads on the same page that google has spidered including extreme profanities because they show normal ads not community service ads. That is all I am saying here whether it be a policy change, a glitch, whatever isnt the point - the point is it seems to allow these words now.

Spudstr 10-03-2005 06:33 PM

taken from adsense help.

Don?t place Google ads on sites that contain prohibited content.
Google ads may not be displayed alongside any type of content prohibited by our program policies, including adult or mature content, gambling-related content, or drug content. It's your responsibility to ensure that all of your pages adhere to these policies.

still says No...

So you are saying that the Huffington Post is breaking Googles TOS?

emthree 10-03-2005 08:34 PM

I shall sit this one out for a bit

Brujah 10-03-2005 11:35 PM

Anyone testing http://publisher.yahoo.com yet ?

DateDoc 10-05-2005 10:19 AM

I have adsense on one of my blogs for months. Google approved it and while for a long time i did get mostly PSA I now get clickable ads (as of a few days ago) and revs from adsense are way up. I have not changed the content of the blog from when they approved it, don't post pics, and while it is not porn I would consider it adult related.

Doctor Dre 10-05-2005 10:23 AM

I'ma give it a shot
