married/long term relationship men; do you do chores?
 

just wondering if my man is getting away with murder over here. the only "chore" he does, about once a month, is take the garbage to the garage & put it in the garbage can (takes 1 minute or less).

i do EVERYTHING else, and me being a clean freak, i clean alot. :( and i cook everynight too.

he works 8-10 hours (on average) 5 days a week so I dont really complain. doesnt take much time everyday to just keep the place clean but just curious, do you guys do anything? :Oh crap

I have to say all TF does is the garbage once a week I do everything here. It doesn't bug me cuz I hate doing the garbage.

I handle the sexual intercourse side of the business.

i would say.. whatever arrangement both of you come up with and are happy with is good... I would be equally involved

My wife works outside the house, and I from home so I pretty much do everything from getting the boy ready and off to school, to the dishes, the cleaning, the laundry and the cooking. I do not have a problem with it either.

Definitely do chores. Someday I'll have a housekeeper to do the cleaning stuff though and a gardner for the rest of the outdoors.

I am a project hunter so all the request from my wife are done because I enjoy making her happy and I get to use my hands (I just installed a new kitchen faucet last night), plus she returns it to me two folds.

I take out all the trash, mow the grass, and cook (she sucks at cooking and she admits it, OR I am being hosed in believing that). She does the clothes and most of the cleaning inside. We split everything else up that might need to be done...

I do alot of chores, including garbage removal, watering plants, occasional laundry. After my wife got hurt in a car accident, I did even more. Whatever you can do to take the pressure off your spouse will help your relationship.

I wash dishes twice a week, do clothes twice a week, make sure the garbage gets picked up every thursday, make the bed daily, and vacuum twice a week. Sometimes I try to do more, my wife is a very busy woman and since I work from home I have no excuse not to help out.

That's some shit to look forward to. Hopefully I'll end up with a chick who isn't insane.

When I moved in with Shannon, before we were married, I said "List the 5 things that you hate doing the most, and I'll make sure you don't get stuck doing them." Hers were vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing toilets and showers, mopping tile, and washing windows. So I hired a weekly housekeeping service to do those for us, and we've never once fought about housework.

As far as "chores" go, she once told me that she compared notes with other women only to discover that I do way less chores than all the other husbands. I said, "YES!!! They all aspire to be ME!" hahaha

been with my wife for 10 years...she does EVERYTHING...what she does not do..the kids do...she is a stay at home housewife...and that is the way i like it....

I do pretty much everything here. The only thing the girlfriend does is clean the bathroom. I do the cooking, cleaing and laundry. Like Lycanthrope, I work from home she doesn't so it is just easier for me to do it.

I had that too, the new housekeeper I had spend $50 on cleaning stuff a week, ripped the whole shower curtain down, demolished two tabs and a lot more. Luckely for me now Ive got a gf who loves cleaning in her thong topless while I work. Live is good sometimes :)

yes he is getting away with murder.. just because one works from the home does not mean they should pick up after the other and do all the chores. My hubby and I used to split the chores.. but the past year he thinks he is too good to be the "fucking maid"..and alls i ask is to clean up after yourself.. they set garbage beside the garbage can, they leave the dirty clothes all over the place..the leave food and dirty dishes all over the house. Then He bitches when I dont make enough money for that week (he works 4 days on 4 days off... half a fucking year!!)..it just doesnt get through to his fucking thick skull that if I had less of a housework load and a little help..i would have my mind clear to work and make money..i dont even sleep but 4-5 hours a night and literally fall alseep on the couch for those 4-5 hours.

I am assuming you arent happy with this present chore arrangement ..tell him you arent happy..sometimes it doesnt do a damn bit of good.. other times it can work magic for those with husbands easy to get along with...good luck

She cooks everything, I clean everything.

I bring home the $, I do not do shit.

Of course we have maids, handymen, etc etc.

I do the garbage, kitty litter, pussy eating and maintain our hottub.

Also, whoever makes dinner, the other person washes the dishes, so I do a lot of dishes as well.

of course my wife is at workright now... plus she's pregnant.. so I gotta pick up the slack.

I don't vaccuum, do the laundry, cook, or clean the bathroom...

My girlfriend put up with me being a slob for 2 years ... and then I think I broke her :-( .... she stopped doing chores too!!! So now, both of us do em ... but we each have certain things we won't do ... for example she refuses to touch the garbage, and I refuse to touch the toilets =)

yep we have that same agreement in place ... except I generally try to cook ... it's a helluva lot more fun to MAKE a mess than to clean it =)

of course. i do the the dishes sometimes or at least help her with them. i take out the garbage and cook a few nights out of the week depending on how busy she is. we both clean up whenever it needs it and we usually both go grocery shopping together. she does the laundry tho, but im willing to help with just about anything. she tends to work longer hours than i do so its the least i can do.

I did 110% of the cleaning, cooking, and errands when I was married, including getting up at 4:00 every morning to fix him a big breakfast. I also cooked him lunch every day and drove it to him at his office. Same thing at night- if he wasn't home yet, I cooked it and drove it to him. At least he was fairly neat. He would pick up his clothes and put them in the hamper and hang his towels up. That was about all he did, though.

We have a lawn maintenance company that handles our outside work on my house, we have a cleaning service that comes in twice a month (not nearly enough in IMHO).

I usually take out the garbage and help with things whenever I am asked.
