Best way to find her ring size?
 

I need a way to find my girls ring size. She doesn't wear a lot of them so I can't sneak one away or anything. She also doesn't take off the one on her ring finger because it has sentimental value, so I can't get at it easily.

Anyone have any creative ways of finding out the size?

You could joke around next time you're by one of those 25 cent ring machines and buy her one, then gauge the size of her finger from how it fits.

seriously, go someplace cheesy with her like walmart and take her to the ring section. get her to try on some of the rings and you'll find her size

Buy the ring, give it to her when your ready. SUPRISE!!!! YAY YAY YAY.

Take her to a (preferably the one you bought it at) jewelery store to get resized.

Everyone there will tell her how great the ring looks on her and how wonderful of a boyfriend she has.

Promise ring. I just want to show her I am dedicated. She's had a real rough time with guys (physical abuse and such) so I want to just say "don't worry I am here for you"
Plus I am gone half the week to university so I only see her half the week so I want her to have something nice to look at any time she misses me.

It's an inexpensive way to show I care - and I don't think a teddy bear would have the effect I want it to have.

You can always make a mold of it with a mushy bar of soap or hot wax, but she'd have to remove it and you'd have to hide it from her long enough for the wax to cool (or the soap to harden) without her noticing.

Borrow one of her current rings and get it sized at a jeweler.

I may be out of the loop but i think promise rings mean marriage in the future.

Try on one of the ones she has now, like on your pinky finger... you'll be close enough to get it resized later if you really need to.

take her somewhere where you find a lot of rings, let her try all of them...and you will know it

When she is asleep use a plastic ring guage or just a piece of string on her finger and mark the string.
If she never sleeps around you find a reason to have her put a piece of string around her finger (silly reason to not arouse suspicion).

basically, it means you'll be together forever, engagement is in the future. i always thought it was more of something high school kids did but some girls like it.

Yah its an incredibly high school thing. Makes me laugh everytime i hear people actually doing this, kind of like Sweetest Day or whatever in the midwest. Thank god that fake holiday never caught on on the east coast.

Never heard of that holiday, or anyone in my highschool give anyone a promise ring so I am not really in the loop on that stuff. All I know is it will mean a lot to her and me.

i think it's sweet. maybe you can one of her girlfriends help you out or her sister if she has one?

Here's what I did and I think it will work for almost anyone.

Something was coming up, valentine's day or her birthday or something.....so I asked her to write down ALL of her sizes for everything on a piece of paper that I could take with me when I went shopping.
I said "I don't want to call you from the store and ask your dress size because that would give the gift away"

So I have a piece of paper with dress size, bra size, panty size, dress size, jean size, ring size.....every size.

Then a few months later I bought her engagement ring.


Also, if all else fails, buy a big one, and you can get same day resizing from most jewelers after you give it to her.

Also to clarify, yes young - no dumb.

I don't have fingernails I bite them apart. No I have yet to have either painted. But I have no dignity so she can paint anything she wants.
I wear eyeliner on my own anyway so it's not a huge deal.

Make sure such a gift won't scare her away. It might.

As for finding her size... I took my fiancee out shopping for rings for fun.

On a day when you need something to do go to the most expensive store around. So expensive that she knows you'll never be buying anything for her there anyway. Just for fun you want to see these super duper unbuyable rings on her. Then notice what size fits her.

This is a tough one.
